I had a good 4-night stay at the Renaissance Seattle. The club lounge is outstanding with wonderful views of Seattle and a very decent breakfast spread. The lobby is modern and nicely decorated and the staff friendly. Everything else is fairly average. The location is pretty good, as it is within a 15m walk from many things downtown Seattle, that being said there is limited dining & shopping that I could find in the immediate area, and the hotel is next to a freeway that is quite loud. My 25th floor room was fine, comfortable though a bit dated.

Had a fantastic stay at the Renaissance Seattle. Lisa took amazing care of my boyfriend and I at Fig and Judge. She was so personable and made sure we had everything that we needed. Lisa really understands what hospitality is all about. I also had a great experience at check in.

The lobby, bar, and restaurant area are nice. The rooms are adequate and clean. But the sound of the freeway all night detracts from what would be an otherwise great hotel. I'm not sure what they can do about at this point, but perhaps there is some kind of soundproofing they could do.

The staff are generally friendly and this is not an issue per se. However, as a Marriott loyal elite customer (this year, I am Ambassador elite, their highest status), I'd say the treatment left much to be desired. But their most egregious problem was that they didn't even label their food items in the lounge as being vegetarian or not (let alone with other details--photos included). The staff couldn't tell you what the soup was (they just didn't know and weren't told). I wouldn't blame just the staff but the managers! When I raised this issue, the staff were so indifferent and no one in the managerial ranks was apparently available to even talk to me! I would never go back here.

I stayed her for a week recently as on a mix of a personal and business trip to Seattle. Check-in was fast, hotel were helpful in ensuring I kept my room in a transition from my personal to business booking, and my room was a nice size and comfortable. The A/C was noisy in my room but I slept through it. There are a couple of restaurants and a bar in the hotel, nothing special, the service in the bar was slow the one time I visited, but the service I received at breakfast was pretty good. On the morning I had breakfast, my food arrived cold, I told the waiter and he immediately got me some more - hot - food. A word of warning that the bar and restaurants both add a mandatory 20% tip to your bill AND leave it blank for a tip! This is not on, either charge your mandatory service charge OR leave the customer to choose, don't double dip our wallets. The service did not warrant a 20% tip (slow bar, cold breakfast), so I did not eat here again, after all, if someone is going to force me to pay a 20% tip, then they need to ensure their service is up to a 20% standard. So the hotel drops a star for this, but other than this, not a bad place to stay.
