Super 8 by Wyndham Roanoke VA

To put it simply, my family and I were in town due to a family member's emergency surgery, and all we wanted was a clean place to rest after a long day. Unfortunately, we quickly learned that sometimes you really do get what you pay for. We booked two rooms, both of which were in appalling condition. Despite our exhaustion, we initially brushed it off—until around midnight when I woke up to go to the bathroom. That’s when I was horrified to find cockroaches scurrying on the wall behind the desk and TV. This is completely unacceptable, Wyndham! We expected much better.

Yesterday's $30 per night motels now cost $60 but you still get the dirt, roaches, poor maintenance and upkeep. Indian management, Spanish speaking staff communication was not easy, some rooms were better than others, I wanted a low end motel and that's what I got.

Smoke smell in room, bugs in bathroom, breakfast bar only toast, frozen waffles, dry cereal (no milk)

And everything about this place is SUPER sketchy. There are always guys hanging around outside. They require a refundable $100 cash deposit. (which is in the notes about the property section of expedia. Wish it had been listed in the cost section).You have to turn the door handles up to get into the room. There was no remote for the TV. When we asked for one the front desk guy said he has one but it’s out of batteries so we should check back tomorrow. The TV doesn’t work anyway. And last but definitely not least, the back door doesn’t close. I don’t mean doesn’t lock. Doesn’t close.

Here’s the list: Initial res at 11pm was canceled by system on arrival at 12:03am 30min total to rebook over phone in parking lot which included a transfer to time share sales rep at almost 1am!!!! Halls reek of smoke smell This is NOT a non smoking hotel!! Not a place for a family stop over after a long drive! Only thing good? Bed sheets were clean. Coverlet had cigarette burns Towels were frayed Bath tiles loose and caulked by a non professional who used two colors Paint missing or worn in many places Urine stains on desk chair Security lock on door broken and repaired with piece of electrical tape Charcot short to secure door at knob Light shades dusty cracked and worn AC blew cigarette smell once tried on. View is of vacant Waffle House - think zombie apocalypse style, people shooting drugs in cars below 2nd flr windows If I was exhausted from a 13hr ride I’d have left. That was the more dangerous option of the two. We stayed. Slept fully clothed. Did not use shower. Pushed desk against door. Tv remote did not work Internet was questionable I did not try Noise? This is a horror show. Got 4hrs semi sleep enough to get house in one piece but NEVER would I EVER recommend Super 8 once passed Maryland!!! NEVER!!! This was one step above staying in Drug ridden Kensington in Phila you see all over the internet!!
