A fine little hotel. Nothing fancy, but it checks the boxes where it counts: a quiet and clean room and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was great and plentiful and included chocolate waffles. The staff was nice and so were the other guests. The immediate area is unglamorous but this is a better stay than many, much more expensive places.

Staff is very, very unprofessional and more focused on Smoking, Gossiping & stopping their Crying Babies and Toddlers they bring to the Hotel. I stayed10 days with no issues other than Toilet that would not flush and MANY allowed to Smoke Cigarettes & weed in Rooms and Elevator! Staff did not take it seriously since they all smoke like Chimneys. I had told 2 staff that I dropped and lost my white phone Charger. I saw one on bottom of Cart and asked IF that was Lost and Found. Girl nodded her head and said "SI" So, I said I think it is mine. I looked again and decided it was mine. I took it and later was treated with disrespect and ASSuming I took something that was not mine. I had ASKED and was told YES/SI and nod it was Lost and found Cable. I pass top security background checks and do not "Steal" or Lie as I hate dishonesty and disrespect. Manager was extremely disrespectful and inappropriate after this. Manager yelled at Me at Desk AND in halls near my Room and Room she wanted me to pack up and move to due to Renovations in very old, worn and outdated Room. Manager is First to EVER threaten me to "Kick out" "Ask you to LEAVE! IF you say that ONE more time!" Manager needs Training to know how to control her temper and learn how to say things in Respectful way to Customer who pays HER Yelling and making threats is NEVER ok Jan at the Front Desk asked "Are you leaving" when She say my Stuff on Luggage Cart. It was so stupid and funny as Jan lacks basic Customer Service Skills in acting grumpy, not smiling and not thanking as she seems miserable to be there and live there. She acted like Guests are interrupting her from Smoking out back or looking at her phone or planning her Beach Trip on her Lists she worked on while at the Front Desks. Guests interrupted her making Lists of things to take on her Vacation. So, she acts annoyed and as if still dressed for Halloween and witchy. She also does not have basic customer service skills and knowledge. She does not smile or help with a good or natural attitude. I reported that to the Manager who did not care since Jan watches the Manager's Grandchildren while Manager works and is "sick at work" I spent a lot of money there and was then disrespected over a phone cord that is/was Mine! I am allowed to take extra towels when they forget and say they will bring towels and sheets and do not. Manager yelled that the girl did NOT come back because "SHE is ONLY for overnight Guests and "NOT for Stayovers" Guests do NOT know which Staff is ONLY for this or that until told but it should NOT result in GUESTS being lied to about Linens OR YELLED at by Manager who does not act Professional or Appropriate. I am Diamond at 5 Brands and NEVER had any Manager act angry when THEY do not properly clean or provide basic items in Paid Hotel Rooms. Hope the Owner will take proper Actions to Train those who act like this is their Daycare and Smoking Lounge as they stay over night in many Rooms and bring all their children to work. The children crawl all over in rooms and hall when their Mothers are "working" and Smoking The children cry loudly for long times because "She is teething" She is fussy because sick" This is risky, a liability and unprofessional GUESTS should Be Priority and shown APPRECIATION Micro Customer Service is little bit of basic common manners Micro skills Micro anger management Micro self control and impulse control I was forced to Move due to Hotel needs Hassles and Disrespectful Hairs from OTHER Guests and BUGS in 2nd Room Have photos of 8 DEAD bugs and 6 Still ALIVE Bugs climbing on wall and 5 alive on floor Staff got ANGRY over Dead BUGS in ROOM I have NEVER had BUGS in ANY hotel ROOM and do NOT want to Stay in Room with Bugs and insects Staff and manager said it is "giving hard time" "harass" to ASK for BASIC Service and Replacement items Weird they get angry when Guests do NOT get angry over issues they FAIL to take care of Properly Train Staff to control their tempers and focus on Guests as Priority instead of cigarette/weed/vape Smoking and baby sitting

Other than being literally a small (micro hotel), it was perfect. Small but quaint. Friendly, clean, quiet, and surprisingly good breakfast. Culpeper Microtel is a good spot. Water pressure was good for shower. AC/heat worked well. Beds were comfy.

I work as a travel nurse and have stayed in A LOT of hotels. Never would I have expected the very best one BY FAR to be the Microtel in little Culpeper, VA! There has never been a single negative thing about my stays. It has a very welcoming vibe, staff is friendly and helpful and the rates are the best in the area. The manager, Rebecca, is awesome. She pays attention and they remember you! Hard to find that nowadays. The free hot breakfast is done very well⦠an attendant is always present, keeping everything filled, stocked and CLEAN! And yes, up to the very end of breakfast hours šš¼. Lastly (and this is no exaggeration) it is the absolute CLEANEST hotel I have EVER been to! That says a whole lot coming from me because Iām one to notice the littlest detail! I have never in my life stayed somewhere that I couldnāt find not one thing āwrong.ā This hotel deserves WAY more than 2 stars!

First, itās easy to get to but not easy to get inside or stay for long. I love children but when you employ a large amount of staff who needs to bring their children to work with them- thereās infants (on pillows) on the floor behind the check in desk, toddlers and older playing in the lobby lounge and dining areas- you should be able to pay the employees enough to secure safe child care. I donāt think that seems unreasonable. I used to have to travel for a living and Iāve raised two active children. From near infancy, my children have traveled with me as well. I understand that hotels (and active kids, lol) can be loud but this Microtel is the noisiest hotel Iāve ever stayed. I paid an early check in fee for 11:00 and even though they took the fee, they claimed they never saw the request. So I couldnāt check in until 2:30 and really donāt feel like that was worth the fee (actual check in is at 3 anyway) Aside from the highway traffic and hallway noise, the first night was quiet compared to the next. I had to ask the hotel manager to call the guests above me because it was obvious a child was jumping up and down over me. The manager just looked at me and said- āwell, itās a hotelā. I believe she called the room and asked the people to speak to their child but the noise continued and got worse. It sounded as though luggage was being slammed on the floor at that point. So Iām trying to sleep with some entitled parent and their equally as entitled kid goose stepping above me tonight. Great Itās ironic how I paid extra forā¦this. Do NOT recommend.
