Fiddler's Green Inn

A cozy spot set back from Mountain Road along a beautiful river. Warm and embracing. Convenient to everything, especially the mountain. Bud is an amazingly gracious and generous host. The breakfasts are awesome.

We stayed here three nights while touring New England, and we were not enthused by our experience. Bud, the proprietor, was friendly but intrusive. We had asked him the first morning to not make up our room going forward, but he ignored our request the next day. While the breakfasts were made to order, which was lovely, Bud would give us more food than we requested, for example 3 eggs or pieces of French toast versus the requested 2. Seems like not a big deal but if someone wants to know what I want, I'd appreciate not editing my request. The bed and linens, including the pillows, were dated, and the bed itself was noisy when someone moved at all. The conveniences included fridge space, ample tea and coffee, and location. There were also games and cards available.

I will start by if you are looking for luxury this is not the place for you, but if you are looking for a nice cosy, cute room to sleep and an awesome host that cooks breakfast for you than this is the place for you. it has a nice living room with a real wood fireplace, close enough to Stowe Mountain and best bar matterhorn is close by.

Steeped in New England charm, The Fiddlers Green Inn is the perfect destination for singles, couples, ski teams and non skiers just passing through. Inn-keeper, Bud McKeon makes all the difference. He is welcoming, hospitable and has full knowledge of the mountains, best places to dine and seems to know a lot of folklore of Stowe and its surroundings. Although not a skier I was visiting the area representing "Burning Lake Productions" scouting film locations. And I was welcomed as if I was there to ski like all the others.The inn is tucked a few hundred yards off mountain road up against the most tranquil brook that I have ever seen. It ripples over rocks and ice in a mesmerizing fashion. It can be viewed from all windows on the back side of the inn. My room was toasty warm with out side temps in sub zero numbers. Fresh linens and, bathrooms cleaned everyday. My reservation came with daily breakfast every morning and incredible coffee.( which seems to be a secret blend) served in warmed cups. When ever I travel I look for the little extras...and this inn has it. I can highly recommend Fiddlers Green Inn for a rustic, comfortable vacation getaway.

Charming place, close to nature, relaxing. Great hosts! Bud is simply true, kindred spirit and really funny! His wife Carol is lovely! Some people gave bad reviews, but maybe it's because they expected a Hilton. Just go to these superficial places like you are, and you'll be ok. To us, the Fiddler's Green Inn was just perfect. Comfort is not just a matter of bed or mattress. It's about the feel and the vibe of the place. And this place is just delicious! ;-)
