My wife and I were in the Northeast Kingdom on Saturday, and opted to spend the weekend up in the area. She booked the room, sight unseen. I have to say, it was a VERY pleasant surprise!!! Staff were friendly, the room we booked, Room #1, actually had THREE beds in it, and was very clean and reminded me very much of the house I grew up in-complete with the squeaky stairs and the, what I coined, "morning bird" floorboard in front of the dresser. The price included a FULL breakfast-not a "continental" one. Which was really, really nice. There was an artists retreat there this weekend too, and, as I waited for my wife to come downstairs, I had a coffee, and a chat with some of the artists. We would definitely stay here again. The restaurant downstairs was a nice little touch too!. Thank you to the staff and owners for such a nice overnight stay!!!

This website is a sham. My husband and I ran out of hot water. We had to walk through a foot of snow back and forth to our car. The front desk rep was extremely rude with very bad hygiene. Our roo. Was discussing, including finding a half eating cooking I. The one piece of furniture I. The room had hair in the shower and bathtub and dust everywhere. The room was extremely small and was literally just a bed. .the food was horrible and the waitresses were rude .do not go here

It’s an old property with quaint features and sloping floors in a good location for travelling Rte 100. It has a good bar/restaurant attached but the general cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms needs to be significantly improved. Bedding was clean and bed was comfortable but I did not use the jacuzzi bath in my room because of cleanliness concerns. Whole place gave me haunted house/Bates Motel vibes with creepy pictures and very dated furnishings & I did not feel comfortable at all during my stay. Would not recommend or return.

Pictures online do NOT accurately represent this place. They may be from an earlier era or from earlier owners. Breakfast was not served as shown in the pictures I saw at tablecloth covered tables. Bathroom had mold growing down in the crevices and chipped paint all along the bottom of the bathroom door that should be kept up better. None of this is horrible by any stretch, but it speaks to a neglect that should be remedied rather than ignored. I recommend this property re-evaluated for TripAdvisor rating. We've had better luck trusting TripAdvisor in the past, but this place we likely would have not stayed in had more representative images been provided.
