Way past it's time drugs not safe your stuff isn't safe. The homeless live there it's not made for the public beautiful area but definitely bring a camera and make sure your windows are looked if u stay and for the doors to a lot of people have keys due to other managers that gave the kids out freely like the new management now very toxic environment.

This motel is way past it's prime. It needs a lot of work to make it a desirable place to stay overnight. The tub was peeling and looked dirty and just awful. I put down an old disposable cloth so we could step into it. The wallpaper is peeling off, the lamp shades are in tatters, the refrigerator had not been defrosted in many months. The window did not open. It is creepy. We were definitely overcharged to be staying in such a place. I notice that today's price is $20 less, which is still too much just to "try to sleep" there. There are signs that say "if you stay longer than 15 minutes, you will not get your money back"--what an attitude; that does not even give one time to look at the room and go back to the office to complain. While we were trying to check in, the lady resident manager spent her time on the phone to someone important (maybe it was her doctor) but she should have had another way to check people in without just handing us a paper to fill out with no greeting at all. There was no tea, just a couple of packets of coffee and the lady resident manager said that her boss did not provide tea. She said she would find some from her own cupboard, but that did not happen. We checked for bugs and it seemed okay. The sheets seemed clean. The faucets are reversed so one gets hot water instead of cold. There are people living there full time that seem to be low income and need some help. We felt sorry for them to be there.

Being a Bennington native that has since moved out of state my fiancĆ© and my kids and I came back for a family event and booked two rooms online at the west road motel. This place use to be a thriving business. Had a cute cafe and was very well kept. What we pulled up to looked like something from the walking dead. Unkempt lawn lots of weeds and weirdos all over the place. Our room was ok but the room for the kids stunk. And with in five minutes some little brat ran his bike into our rental leaving a large scratch. My oldest daughter and fiancĆ© were like hell no! Went to the office and got a refund. The next hotel we went to in town that saved our asses told us that the west road is now section 8 housing and is like a half way house for people getting out of jail. Under no circumstances do you book here!!!!! I strongly suggest the Bennington motor inn and the Hampton inn they really took care of us. But do not go to the west road itās a nightmare!!!

Stinky room, sheets not changed, had to pay extra for clean sheets to change the bed, then drink some whiskey to be able to sleep there. The nature was beautiful and this motel has a scenic view, great potential⦠needs new owners!

Where to begin.... I've stayed at some inexpensive motels over the years and can deal with outdated décor or lack of amenities as long as the rooms are clean. This was by far the most disgusting motel I've ever encountered in my life. After checking in at the front desk, we were greeted by someone sitting outside one of the rooms who asked which room we had checked into. When I told them which room we were in, their response was "Oh good, because there are bed bugs in the rooms on either side of yours." I normally would have left immediately but we were in town for a music festival and this was the only available room in a half hour drive. We opted not to leave our luggage in the room after hearing there might be bed bugs and kept it in the car as we went to the concert. After returning from the concert at midnight, we actually entered the room. Here are a few highlights: ⢠Two of the three lights in the room were broken and non-functional ⢠After stripping the beds to check for bed bugs, we found the sheets covered with pubic hair ⢠The wallpaper was peeling off the walls everywhere ⢠Sections of the baseboard heat were exposed ⢠The shower was so disgusting that I wouldn't have stepped into it with shoes on ⢠The entire room smelled like musty cigarettes ⢠The pillows were so thin that even when all 4 were stacked on top of one another, it still didn't work as a pillow. ⢠The minifridge was broken ⢠Mysterious stains all over sheets, comforters and mattresses ⢠Bathroom door did not close ⢠Random holes all over walls & bathroom door ⢠Room door closed but screen door did not ⢠'Free WiFi' did not have internet connected to it ⢠Hot water came out of the 'cold' tap and vice versa ⢠Most of the rooms appeared to be lived in full-time by low income families (belongings and garbage covered most of the front patios) After seeing the state of the room, we debated our options and decided to not even stay the night and just drove the 3 hours home at midnight.
