Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott San Antonio Seaworld

Upon arriving at the hotel I noticed the fake police camera systems everywhere and it was a sign of trouble. Once we entered the property we found the inside to be very clean and well decorated. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast staff were great as was the food. Our room had a very musty, artificial frangrence smell that smelled like someone smoked in the room and they tried to hide it with a strong cleaner. It wasn't bad enough to make us ask for another room, but certainly was an unpleasant experience. Then, the first night, I was awoken by a brief car alarm honking. I looked out the window to seeing a thief that had stolen the tailights off the F-150 outside my window and he smashed the side window also. He then drove a few cars down, and was trying to break open the tailgate of another ford truck (a Maverick). I opened the window and yelled at the guy and he took off. I'd still recommend this place if you are looking for a budget hotel and you don't drive Ford trucks. Also, don't leave anything in your car that would make a thief interested.

The hotel has serious issues with safety. They charge for parking and then 3-5 cars get broken into each night, or just straight up stolen. Spoke with PD the night ours was broken into and they confirmed that it is a regular event. Our first night our truck and three others had windows smashed and contents stolen. (Fortunately nothing in ours to steal, but had to deal with getting a window replaced in an unfamiliar town while trying to get to work.) The following night it was three more. The hotel knows but doesn't say anything when you check in, nor have they added more security or fixed the issue. I can see now in going back through reviews that it's been happening almost nightly for well over a year. It also seems like security is always "on the other side of the parking lot" whenever it happens. It is at the point that it's negligence on the hotel's part. I am shocked at Marriott. It seems like someone on the inside is involved. I travel for work and pleasure, and this is the most reckless thing I have ever seen a hotel do. (Or not do) Additionally, the room was dirty, and there were stains on the couch and the bed. I cannot believe that the government forces their people to stay in a hotel where cars are literally broken into nightly.

This hotel is clean, nicely decorated and the staff is helpful. We stayed in a suite with 3 children. The sofa bed was comfortable for the children and the bed linens were clean and in good shape. We asked for extra pillows, and they were delivered quickly with a smile. The free breakfast was good, with hot options of eggs and sausage, as well as a nice selection of breads, cereals and beverage. The parking lot was well-lite and there were no issues. If you are going to Seaworld, this is a great place to stay.

My F-150 pickup was broken into during our stay here. I had actually parked it under a police survey camera, obviously not a deterrent to these San Antonio thugs! I recommend if you stay here and have a Ford, ask them to park it under the port a cache overnight.

Most terrible experience I have had at a Hotel by Marriot. I will never stay here again. Multiple Vehicles are broken into nightly, or just stolen off the lot. Staff and night "security" act as if its ok and hotel continues to not make any changes. There is no surveillance or "security" yet you have every vehicle paying $8 nightly to be broken into. Seems as though someone on the inside has built a business breaking into the vehicles at this hotel. I will never stay here again nor will anyone I can deter from here.
