Courtyard by Marriott Waco

Nice location across from the Conventions center. We were a large group that came in late evening for food service and experianced exceptional service from Dawn despite the hour and she was working alone. A big "Thank You" Dawn for the friendly hospitality.

Despite a decent location near the convention center and downtown, I would NOT recommend this property. It should have been remodeled years ago. Mildew smells in rooms, mattresses sagging, carpets smell and dirty. Vote with your dollars and stay elsewhere so the owner will invest in the property. I expect more from Marriott and clearly they have not inspected this hotel for Marriott quality.

The hotel is run down. And it was next to the city park which had fun concerts for Eclipse weekend. However, the blaring music went late into each night of our stay. The staff was friendly while we were there BUT I left an item in our room. When I got home and called to have it returned to me their process is VERY expensive, staff was unyielding in helping me get my item back for a reasonable price and when I asked to speak to the manager she was not interested in helping me, said it was my own fault for leaving it in the room and hung up on me. Never again will I stay here or recommend this hotel to anyone. We are loyal Marriott customers and just paid an ENORMOUS premium to stay here during the eclipse - like over $950/night for 4 nights for two rooms. You would think they could be helpful in returning a small personal item. Nope.

Room smelled like sewer gases. After requesting a new new room, I was told it was sold out. I asked them to move me to the Springhill, but the manager said the rate was higher than theirs and they would not pay it. Inexcusable bad service. Do not stay here.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! The hotel is dirty, our toilet did not work, and the manager is very rude. The location is great in downtown and next to the river, but each we stay here there is a major problem. This is always hotel of last resort in Waco.
