Downtowner Inns Houston

This property is near to downtown and easy approach by highway. The rooms are big and having all amenities and they don’t have facility for good breakfast, that you can manage from outside. The Indian staff is very friendly and supportive. I recommend this hotel near center.

3 star- it is a smoking motel/inn. I asked for a floor level room; obliged and gave us a lower level. As soon as we walked in all I could smell was cigarette smoke. I can’t do the smell. Asked for another room and she found 2 for me to choose. Chose decent one. The aesthetic of the room is great if it weren’t for the cigarette smoke. This room wasn’t bad on the smell. The rooms shown to us each had an ashtray with match book.

This is another Indian owned motel that has become synonymous with a lot of motels in Houston all but a few being Indian owned & staffed. They make the most profit not by renting rooms for the entire day as with traditional hotels, but by renting rooms for "2 hours" at a time for $25. Not judging, just saying. As a consequence though, unfortunately to you, they will tell you "no vacancy" if you come too early (1 p.m. for instance) bc they've not rented the rooms enough times yet, although its clearly evident the hotel is exactly empty by the empty parking lot lol. Clean rooms, soft beds, but inconsistent and unreliable availability. The locals know it but they (staff) could care less if you're from out of town tired from a long flight. Been told $85 on one inquiry, then $55 on another night. THEY DO NOT DO RESERVATIONS. Fyi, a good location but a Lot of sex there though. Up to you! They do NOT have a fitness nor business center.

If you need to be close to Midtown Houston this is a good place to stay. It is on convergence of I59 and 288 but a thick cinderblock fence cuts down the noise a bit- if the owners installed a noisy water fountain more of the traffic sounds might be masked. It is well lighted and very clean- a couch in the room for $70. New town homes built nearby helps give an impression of calm neighborhood but really absolutely no where to walk-- and streets are dark-food a short drive away west on Mcgowen.

Room was definitely clean everything was in order tones the linens were fresh and even the bedspread shockingly was recently laundered. Ample parking and great access to local Freeway 59 288 enter the downtown area. Would stay here again. Safe and secure and at budget price.
