Renaissance Saint Elm Dallas Downtown Hotel

Beautiful historic building. Service and staff were great. Rooms were comfy and clean. Restaurant attached was amazing! Staff was helpful with recommendations. Walking distance to lots of eating places and The Majestic. Shower needs a full door it was cold.

Renaissance Saint Elm Dallas was the worst Marriott hotel I have ever stayed in. It was a designated hotel for an event. Considering that it has 4 stars with mixed reviews, I reluctantly reserved a premium corner room for 3 nights. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Elite member. The room faced on both sides windows to adjacent buildings. It was dark and had no privacy. I complained and switched rooms the following night and moved to an adequate location on a higher floor. I purchased breakfast with my reservation. The restaurant was closed, and I was directed to a hotel store with chips and soda as my option. I complained again and the front desk gave me a pass to the concierge floor that had some recognizable breakfast food. The following day, I returned to my room at 5:00 pm and the hotel had not cleaned my room. I had to call the front desk for clean towels

I recently visited this hotel, and upon arrival I thought my stay would be great because of the location and how much you pay to stay. Little to my knowledge they have a "if you are African American they will assume you smoke fee" and charge your room an extra $250 for a cleaning fee. WHO SMOKES IN HOTEL ROOMS its 2024! I spoke with Stephanie at the front desk the morning I was accused of smoking in the room (11/26/24 @ 9:46am), "It was a complaint" and house keeping came to my room shortly after(10:06am). NO SMOKE came from of the room. I checked my account today and noticed an extra $250 on top of the charges I was billed the day of checkout. So I speak with Stephanie again about it today and she said "it was her maintenance team who charged the fee, and it could've been the day before." (11/25/24) Well if it was the day before why would you wait a full day to call and say "there is a smoking complaint coming from your room, are you smoking in there?" 11/26/24 at 9:46am the following day, the day of checkout. It makes no sense, the stories are not adding up. ALSO, to smoke in a hotel room knowing checkout is less than an hour away is insulting my intelligence. So if you are African American and you decide to stay here DON'T. You can literally pay this price or less elsewhere for better service. They did not exceed guest expectations only guest DISCRIMINATION. Now Stephanie did say she is going to speak to her maintenance team, but we will see how that goes. I will update my review if anything changes.

Oh look. TV doesn't work. Best they can do is fix it tomorrow. Next gripe, Every other hotel I’m aware of offers a hair dryer…nope not this “Luxury” POS. Don’t stay here. People who answer the phone don’t know anything and push everything to the next day. Don’t worry. I’ll never stay at this pathetic excuse for a hotel again

Very nice Hotel downtown Dallas the decor and marble make it look super fancy like back in a 50‘s movie. There is public parking around the corner but for the price of parking you can get valet parking from the hotel- definitely the way to go! Very quick and friendly valet service. The front desk super friendly as well had no problem checking us in early and accommodating our lower floor request. Nice hotel bar that even showed the Cowboys game. Self serve breakfast in the morning. We are only staying one night so don’t get to use all of the amenities. Room is very spacious like the decor and nice clean bathroom. Would definitely come back here. Walking distance to bars and restaurants.
