Bishop Arts Hotel by Qresorts.

We looked for a hotel and landed on this art bishops hotel. Good location, good price. The rooms are themed and we stayed at the Nairobi room. Very nice and spacious , clean room. Not a hotel-room vibe which we liked. However the hotel is fully un-staffed and everything has to be done online. Also no cash payment possible. You get various codes for the front foor, hotel room and parking area. Luckily there happened to be a staff member who helped us to check in and get everything set up and arranged. If you reserve in advance it may be do-able but for ad-hoc arrivals it is difficult to arrange a room. The un-staffed set-up is not for us so because of that we will probably not book again.

I popped into this place being invited there by their guest. This is an old re-purposed building, but they have done an incredible job on appearance. It’s a cement block building that looks like it may have been a hospital. By today the interior finishes and features are very appealing, right down to the furniture, fixtures, and amenities. I’ve never been exposed to a hotel operating with no attendant. There is absolutely nobody there, and they are completely dependent on electronic locking mechanisms. Their prices are quite attractive, and what I saw of the lobby and sleeping rooms was very impressive. This is not just another base grade box for sleeping, but you won’t find anyone on the property to help with anything. They have locked automatic gates for their parking area, which was ample. Both gate, building, and guest room entry are handled by cipher locks. You pay your room rent online and they provide you with the information you will need to access your room. And, their rooms each have different themes, but the insides of the sleeping rooms were very nice. If you need some more towels that’s provided downstairs, and of course during the day they have housekeeping come in after guests leave. It’s run pretty well as long as the guest is in agreement that it’s totally self-service. It’s in a neighborhood that is healing from some lesser years, but that too is slowly being remedied and nice businesses and people coming back to the area. The whole Oak Cliff neighborhood has been a land of contrasts for decades. It’s on the trolley line if that is of interest to you, but it’s not near any major interstate road. Dallas’ public transit still doesn’t take people where they need to be very well. They are trying, but after 60 years of getting rid of public transportation they have a long way to go before it would be comfortable living in the city with no car. For what I saw I would use them, and recommend them for what they are doing. By getting rid of extra labor, the pricing is quite attractive, and what one gets for the money is a LOT. There’s plenty of dining in the neighborhood that will be delighted to bring you whatever you desire. IT depends on the reason for my visit if having nobody onsite would be adequate for me. There’s a reason it gets so many high reviews, so have a look. It's sort of ironic that this belongs to Blue hotels, and there's virtually nothing blue in it.

Stay away from this hotel and this company. They are untrustworthy. I had to cancel a trip due to unforeseen circumstances and they did not provide a refund per their cancellation terms, even after my repeated attempts to contact them and with a purported service representative who responded vaguely for a while and then ignored my emails.

Do not stay here, this is owned by scammers, people that are running a pyramid scheme. There are about 100 other hotels you can stay other then this place and in a better location as well. They do not fix anything and find the cheapest of the cheapest on everything.

The place is amazing for the value it has. I strongly recommend anyone wanting to spend only a couple of days in Dallas to go here, specially if you intend to visit downtown. The price range vs what is offered is amazing (specially since you have gated parking), the staff is great, and something that is not informed (and I honestly think it should) is that no more than 2 block away there's a streetcar stop that takes you downtown for free every 20 min. Strongly recommended for those looking for a place to stay while visiting downtown
