Holiday Inn Express & Suites East Amarillo

If you’re like me and look at reviews prior to booking a hotel-I’d really recommend this one! Very clean and good area. Room was stocked and nice (I loved the pillows!). My husband, myself and our 2 girls were treated kindly and wouldn’t mind visiting again if we’re ever in the area again.

LOVED the ancient rusted trucks from once upon a time out front of the property !!! Great customer service ~ I'd made my reservation online & Samuel at the front desk, friendly & efficient, was able to fulfil my requested preference, placing me in the "just right" room, which I really appreciated. Lovely, spacious, w/fridge/micro & in-room Keurig. Large wall mounted TV. Lots of easily accessible outlets w/USB ports for charging electronics. Free wifi w/ample signal. Plenty of counter space in the bathroom, generous supply of bright white towels. I slept well on super comfortable bed w/nice linens & fat, fluffy pillows. You can find cheaper hotels but frankly Amarillo is spotty & as a solo woman traveler, I seek out properties like this one where the vibe (and reviews!) are good. Property is well maintained, parking lot well lit & I not only felt my vehicle was safe, but also felt comfortable walking my little dog. Nice when there is a designated pet area that isn't a sticker patch! Aside from a couple small issues (sink didn't drain well & I had hoped for "real" oatmeal rather than the sugar laden instant, those weren't deal breakers & everything else was outstanding. Standard continental was well tended, items refilled, tables kept cleaned off. Sweet Daniella had my receipt ready when I needed it & checkout was every bit as quick & EZ as checking in had been. Highly recommend!

The hotel was great! Great service and super clean. We passed through on a family vacation. It’s a great location to see the Cadillac Ranch and try your hand at eating a 72oz steak at a close resturant. It was easy to get to and it will have a Buckees close by really soon!

Very unfriendly staff. Just didn’t seem to care about anything but their own little social group behind the front counter. Ice machines broken on all floors, except the first floor. Laundry room dryer broken. When I inquired about the location of the only working ice machine on the first floor, I got a three word response, and they acted as if they were insulted that they should be asked any questions. Overall, not a good place to stay.

On our way through Amarillo for our 4000 mile roadtrip we stayed here. This hotel is very centrally located and directly next the 'famous' Big Texan. The hotel was clean, staff was accommodating and room was a very good size. Even though breakfast was an additional $5 for ages 12+, it was worth it. Good variety of choices. The biscuits and gravy was the BEST!! Overall, I would definitely stay here again in the future.
