Comfort Suites Amarillo

We usually stay here on our way to Colorado because of its convenient location. Have never had a problem in the prior 5 years of visits but this trip was horrible. The hotel is being bought out by Hilton so I think until Hilton takes over they are just letting the hotel slide. No hot water for a shower. Front desk suggested it was because everyone was showering at the same time, really, at 9pm, 10pm 11 pm and then at 6:30 am? Bathroom sink faucet sprayed water everywhere. Breakfast was decent probably because we were there early 7:00 am. Not going back to this hotel until the transition is finished

The hotel looks nice on the surface but some significant items should noted Room. There is a distinct mold odor in the hallway and a lesser odor inside room 301. Though appearing clean, bathroom floor was sticky. A dinning room chair was substituted for the desk chair. This made the desk surface too high to use. Fitness room. Significant mold smell. Elliptical machine did not work. Electronics were broken. The nice weight machine attachments were either broken or missing and the pin in one weight stack was broken and stuck in the weights. Did I discuss this with the desk clerk? Nope. Felt it wasn’t worth the effort and that this format would better get the attention of the location ownership and the chain. Gary

Very friendly and helpful check-in. Dirty elevator, hallways and our suite bathroom was worse than a public rest stop. The room was for six..we had no soap, no bath towels, and no bedding for sofa bed. We DID have 2 stained wash clothes and hand towels. The refrigerator didn’t work. The cabinet looked like a dog chewed the bottom off. One bed had a scarf, the other didn’t. Did not stay for breakfast..can’t imagine how clean that would have been.

BED BUGS!!!!!This was the most disgusting, unsanitary hotel I have ever walked into. There were visible bugs crawling all over the bed, the desk chair was shredded and had dried up white stains all over that looked to be dried on semen. There were blood stains on the sheets and pillows, the bathroom did not work at all, and under the sofa bed was piles of food and trash. It smelled like cigarettes and there were stains all over the walls and floors. Hotel staff refused to help us with the situation and the manager has refused to speak to us for a refund. I had 3 small children with me and have reported them to the Amarillo Health Department.

We stayed overnight on our way back to NM. This Comfort Suites has to be the best we have stayed in by far. We had a handicap accessible room with a king size bed and fabulous sitting area with a wet bar, refrigerator and microwave. The bathroom was spacious with a roll in shower and plenty of grab bars. They had the towels in a convenient rolling storage container. The only downside was that the water from the shower gets all over the floor. It needs something to keep the water in the shower. The bed had a pillow top and was very comfortable. After a long day on the road, we enjoyed sitting in the living room area with a glass of wine and some snacks. The breakfast area was spacious and well stocked with the standard hot and cold foods. They didn’t have any bananas. The hotel is close to many restaurants, shops and not far off of the Interstate. This will be our go to place in Amarillo.
