Tru by Hilton Orangeburg

The room was very clean. I love that the rooms are without carpeting. I wish more hotels had the same. There were various fast food places close which was handy. Overall very pleased with cleanliness, location, friendly staff and good breakfast. Will stay again when on our way to Florida.

Tru hotels are, curiously, designed for the single traveler. The rooms are very, very small; no chair to read or watch tv; charging stations are on one side of the bed only. Stay elsewhere if more than one traveler. You will be more relaxed and on better terms with your partner!!

Great place. Staff was helpful and friendly. Bedding was great. Clean and pet friendly. Outdoor area was nice and relaxing with good seating. We will be back. Loved pool table and that they had beer,wine and food stuff if in a hurry or late arrival.

This was our first time staying at Tru by Hilton.. We travel with a small dog and the rooms were perfect.. clean,, clean , clean with no clutter on sink and all toiletries mounted, therefore no waste or plastic. More than the usual space for luggage and bags on extra long “bench”style area. Arrived a bit early and were able to take advantage of workout room and lobby amenities. Warmly greeted by staff upon arrival with recommendations on area. Will be using Tru by Hilton again!

We stayed here one night en route back to Florida from up north. Convenient access off the freeway (I-26) and the hotel looks relatively new even though it is 4 years old. The rooms are a bit small and there is no box spring under the mattress so the bed is somewhat hard. Also, like many hotels they’ve switched to these long tubes in the bathroom (both sink area and shower) for soap, shampoo and lotion. However, at this hotel you have to physically SQUEEZE the bottle to get the product to dispense. So if someone uses the toilet and wants to wash their hands, they have to first squeeze the bottle with their soiled hand before they can clean it. And that means unless they sanitize the bottles every time they clean a room, you could be touching an area by a prior customer who had less ideal hygiene habits. Just gross. At least with a pump sprayer you can sort of avoid contamination. The rooms were also not well insulated as you could hear a lot of road noise and hallway noise. Breakfast was similar to a Hampton but had even less variety and options. Overall we were not impressed with this brand of Hilton and will avoid the Tru option in the future.
