Staybridge Suites Charleston Ashley Phosphate

Stayed here for a short trip to the Charleston area. Very clean room and friendly staff. Enjoyed the indoor pool with the cooler weather outside. Pretty good breakfast buffet included. Beds were comfy. There’s also a small market open all the time for snacks, sodas, and some adult beverage offerings.

Dog friendly, excellent decor and great amenities. The daily buffet breakfast is better than most and the foods always served hot and frequently replenished. They have a cook who exclusively works the breakfast meal and does an outstanding job. There are several hot coffees, a cereal bar, fresh fruit, choice of grits, oatmeal or chipped beef to go along with your eggs and sausage. There are multiple bread choices, bagels and English muffins. They have a dog walk area to the right of the hotel and provide dog bags for their refuse. There are grills to the rear of the hotel for patrons use and utensils are provided for the guests to use. They have a business center, fitness room, available laundry and a heated pool. In the early evening, they have a cocktail hour wherein they provide beer and wine for the guests to enjoy.

As soon as I walked in I felt welcomed. I got checked in quickly, Janel at the front desk was friendly and very informative. She smiled and recommended many places to dine and places to visit while here. The hotel was very clean and felt like a home away from home.

Booked more than a month ago at a group rate for a wedding. A week before the trip I checked my reservation and found that it was for full price instead of for the group rate. Called to have it fixed and they told me it that not only could I not get the group rate but that part of my stay was paid in full but couldn't be cancelled. The manager on duty called back (while I was writing this review) after I already had cancelled part of it and booked another hotel to tell me that he found out where they messed up and that they could honor the original rate after all. While I appreciate the effort I wish it had been made when I called the first time instead of wasting my time and energy. Decided to finish leaving the review anyways for others who don't have room for extra stress in their lives.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite. It was clean and comfortable and well equipped for preparing meals. Breakfast was good and the hostess (Pam?) was very friendly. There is a free guest laundry. Charleston is about 30 minutes drive. There is plenty of shopping nearby and a good Tanger Outlets about 15 minutes away.
