Stroudsmoor Country Inn

OMG, beautiful wedding facilities with incredible views. A real 4 star, maybe more. But OMG, the hotel rooms for guests were, on a scale of 1-10, maybe a 2...MAYBE! Rooms are tired, dated, small, musty, bathroom maybe 3x5, smallest sink ever, no central air, smallest shower EVER. Total opposite of the wedding facilities. Have a wedding, go here....but don't ever stay overnight!

Beautiful venue, friendly staff, beautiful place for a wedding, breakfast was excellent. But if you have to stay overnight the room was musky and the beds were so bad you couldn’t sleep in them. As soon as you laid in the bed it sagged so much you both ended up in the middle just off the floor.

We held our wedding here at the Inn's beautiful Lawnhaven venue and were able to hold our ceremony outdoors. It was an absolutely perfect day! Our wedding planner expertly coordinated everything and gave us great advice about available vendors for an officiant, photographer, and DJ, all of whom were professional and personable. Our officiant created a welcoming and gracious ceremony. We felt very comfortable during the photo sessions, and the DJ got us up and dancing, plus played all of our requests. The wedding cake was both beautiful and delicious, and the dinners were attractively plated and the portions generous. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating to any of our needs. We all felt welcome and at ease. My gorgeous bouquet was matched by my groom's boutonniere, and the centerpieces were complementary to those. We were very impressed with the floral arrangements, and our guests were able to take the centerpiece flowers home to enjoy. We've been hearing many rave reviews from our guests. We have stayed here several times over the years, and each time it has been a pleasant and comforting experience. The property is as immense as it is beautiful, and it is warmly managed by the family that owns it. The hardest part is choosing the your room from the several types available.

Beautiful location and a very pleasant, well-marked walking trail, a real walk in the woods. We found everyone friendly and helpful, and a nice big breakfast (included). It appears that this inn is primarily designed for events, and there was one starting while we were there, but the property is so large that you really don't notice, and we didn't feel that as non-participants we were being ignored.
