Super 8 by Wyndham Gettysburg

Nice little place to stop for a night, it was clean and the beds were pretty comfortable. Only stayed for a night just passing through, but the coffee was good and they had a nice little breakfast. Angie, who was working the front desk when we arrived, was super kind and got us checked in very quickly, she was great. I'd for sure stay again

The reason for my 2 stars is because we had a cold shower for 2 days, we advised the staff and they assured us it was fixed, next morning cold showers again lucky for us we only stayed here 2 nights. The hot breakfast is waffles or cereal, which is fine but not our thing. The "smokers" gathered at the upstairs exits to smoke, and the smoke comes right inside. Overall, the hotel was clean and there was plenty of parking.

We were heading to Florida & needed a hotel in Gettysburg. We booked the Super 8 & when my husband went in to register, they noticed he had trouble walking. After retrieving our bags from the car & entering the lobby. The two lovely women at the desk told us they ungraded us to a family suite on the first floor. They knew my husband couldn’t manage the stairs & there was no elevator. They charged us the rate we would have paid for our original reservation. Extremely appreciatived ❤️

This is an okay hotel. It is run-down and tired. It is in desperate need of updating. We chose it because we have Wyndham rewards and we're able to use points to get a reduced rate. Front desk employees were friendly and helpful at check-in. We had our dog with us and the pet fee is less than most hotels at $15 per night. When we went to our car to get our luggage, there was a group of people smoking outside the front door. On our next trip to the car (since there was only one luggage cart for the whole hotel), the smoking group moved to a car in the parking lot and we're all sitting in it. After going back inside with the dog, we came back to the car after about 45 minutes. There was a group of hotel employees standing near our car, again, smoking. It was the front desk clerks, a guy with a Super 8 shirt and two others. Everything else was fine. The hotel wasn't full and was relatively quiet. The next morning at checkout, we had been charged double for our dog because we checked in online. (?). Apparently, they had trouble with the online check in system. (Why not just disable it until you can get it to work right?) The front desk person couldn't give us an updated statement showing the refund. She said we had to check our bank statement in the next few days to see the refund. I already have it in my calendar to check it on Wednesday this week. This causes your patrons to have to worry about one more thing in their already busy lives. Fix the system. This happened at another hotel we stayed at where they charged us double and said the refund would show on our credit card. We had to have the credit card company go after them for the cost. Advice: Don't do the online check-in and check your receipts!

We used to stay at other more expensive hotels in the area until we found this Super 8. Our daughter attends Gettysburg college so we spend a lot of time in the area. We haven't stayed at any other hotel since we found this Super 8. The hotel is very clean and quiet. Everyone on the staff is incredibly helpful and they bend over backwards to help.
