Silver Sands Motel

My sister stayed here because she was looking for an inexpensive hotel rental near me. I had to bring my mop and clean the floors myself and the water in my mop bucket turned BLACK twice! Not only that there were 4 washcloths and no towels, no floor towels, nothing. She had to ask for a towel to bathe the kids. The paint on the doors is peeling, piles of trash and old windows surrounding the dumpster. I would NEVER recommend anyone stay at this motel.

Very standard rooms, as expected for a value-based motel. Clean and pleasant. Friendly staff. We were looking for a place to sleep for the night, not for anything fancy, so it was perfect for us - but don't expect anything fancy.

I guess we should have believed the reviews. We checked in later in the evening and when we returned from getting dinner, I got ready for bed while my husband showered. I pulled the sheet back and low and behold, spots of fresh red blood (not a stain). I made my husband go get my sleeping bag from the car as it was way too late to deal with it. That was the first issue. The next, I went to shower on the morning and every towel I pulled out looked filthy and disgusting (like they just folded the used towels back up). I didn’t even shower at that point. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. If you are in a budget and need a cheap place, take your own pillow and sleeping bath and possibly your own towel. The only good thing was the guy at the front desk was friendly when my husband checked us in.

The room was filthy, cigarettes all over the stairs and hallways, no hot water, smells of cigarettes, bedding not changed hair and filth in it, floors sticky, no working tv, even with the cheap price nothing was worth that I don't understand how they're allowed to do business,

We were cycling through Florence in a bike tour of the Oregon coast and booker this motel in advance. It was gross. The sheets were stained, gritty, and had other people's hairs on them. When I told management, he replied "It's a public place and I only see one hair." I proceeded to point out *all* the hairs. The floor of our room was dirty with actual debris and trash. Even though we had been cycling for 50 miles and it was pouring rain, we decided not to stay there, got a refund, and found a cleaner place in town. Don't make the same mistake we did.
