I guess a self-styled "European Lifestyle Boutique Hotel" is a euphemism for glorified hostel. If you want just basics like a place to park, a decent bed, an ice bucket or, for Heaven's sake, WATER, go to the Hampton. And this isn't about the crackerbox room size - I've had great experiences at A Lofts. Know before you go.

I had a wonderful experience at the Moxy. I was greeted every time I came off of the elevators promptly by employees. All staff was very accommodating and willing to assist with any questions I had. My room was clean and quiet. I loved the noise machine and all the windows in my room. I stayed for 5 nights and slept well. It was not loud or noisy. I made sure to ask for a room away from the bar/restaurant and was placed on the 7th floor. I worked out in the gym every morning and had no issues with any of the equipment. The Peleton knob does not work as it should but I was still able to get a good workout. I felt it necessary to write a review given how many negatives reviews there were. I did not experience any of the negatives. The location is great, great food, great shopping. Valet was attentive and prompt.

The club ruins this otherwise nice hotel. My three-year old daughter and I stayed from a Thursday evening until Sunday morning in January. I'm writing this review at 1:30 am on Sunday after being woken from a sound sleep, AGAIN, by thumping bass from the club on the top floor. We were originally put on the eighth floor, but after a horrible night of sleep from unending bass on Thursday evening, asked to be moved to another floor on Friday morning. The manager on staff moved us to the seventh floor, which is three floors away from the club. Around midnight on Saturday, the bass was again so loud that my daughter and I were wide awake. I spend most of my night trying to console a toddler because the club upstairs is horribly loud. Here we are again, for the third night in a row. This trip was soured so badly because my daughter and I were horribly sleep deprived the entire time we were in Columbus. The Moxy is a cute, boutique hotel, but I will avoid it at any cost so I can actually sleep in the hotel room I paid for. Maybe things are better on lower floors, but if you're on the seventh floor or above, you will be shaken awake by bass from the club starting at midnight, and ending at 3:00 am. Not even two sound machines can overcome the monotonous, thudding bass. Goodbye, Moxy. I won't be seeing you.

This was our first stay at a Moxy hotel and we absolutely loved it. Our room (Queen suite) was spacious with a big balcony and a very well-designed and well-equipped bathroom. Service throughout was great, from housekeeping to the front desk (part of the bar area, nice touch) to the valet. We'll definitely stay here again next time we’re in Columbus. The location in Short North cannot be beat and there are so many restaurant options very close by.

Small, contemporary style hotel. Clean with friendly staff. Check in on the 2nd floor at the bar. There is a big sign. The elevator requires a key card. The interface is not the best I have seen, but you get used to it. We had a single queen room with balcony. The room was a little small, but the bath was a nice size. The balcony is more of a terrace, where we spent most of our time when in the room. Breakfast did not seem to me worth the $10 they were charging, so we ate down the street at the Northstar Cafe both days we were there. Short North is a great walking neighborhood. Lots of shops and restaurants and right next to the Victorian Village neighborhood. The $25 valet parking is much cheaper than the public garage around the corner.
