Residence Inn By Marriott Cleveland Downtown

This Marriott hotel was by far the the worst experience I’ve had. The view from my room was of rooftop, brick walls, mechanical equipment and pipe. One of the windows was broken and taped back together and there was a fishy smell in the kitchen area. But that wasn’t the worst part. Parking was valet and they damaged the front bumper on my truck. The estimate I got for the repair was$1300. The hotel and corporate both refuse to take any responsibility. I’ve been a Bonvoy member for 9 years and in those 9 years I’ve paid them a lot more than it would have cost them to fix my truck and keep me as a customer. But after this I’m done with Marriott and will not stay at another one of their properties!

Caveat: I came back to my room for my last night to find the maid had put all my belongings in bags at reception. It was an error on their part. $900 in cash was missing and retrieving an agreed 50% has proved impossible despite management making all the right noises. Any hotel is responsible for room security. Theft is not acceptable. Bear this in mind if you’re thinking of booking.

Came here for New Year's Eve getaway, I was skeptical based on prior reviews. Let's say I was pleasantly surprised when I entered my well-appointed fireplace suite. Clean and cozy. Bed was comfortable. And the walk-in shower was amazing!! The strongest water pressure u can have. I can't say enough about this hotel. They really impressed me enough to write this review. I will definitely be returning. Added bonus is the location. You can't beat it. And I really enjoyed the valet parking. Was nice treat! Thank you for a wonderful stay. I truly appreciate it❤️

Location was amazing. That’s where it ends. Hands down the dirtiest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom smelled like it was “cleaned” with a musty towel. My son dropped his toy under the bed- there was candy, crumbs, a woman’s hair clip, what looked like a pill. It was absolutely disgusting. The duvet, which is a sheet covered over a comforter, was actually yellow. I read the reviews and should have known better, but I assumed management had also read the reviews and revised housekeeping standards. It is not a one off, this hotel isn’t clean. A shame because the hotel itself is pretty cool. Will not return.

We chose this hotel based on the location as we were in town for an NBA game and the hotel is directly across from the stadium. I am a Marriott employee so I always choose marriotts because of their room standards for cleanliness and this did not disappoint. It is in a historic building so the layout is not typical but I loved that. Marshelle at the front desk was amazing and took care of any requests we made. Very friendly and great customer service. Valet was another bonus. Breakfast was great. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great hotel in the downtown Cleveland area and will be back again!
