Very good experience spending a night here, and working from the room for a day. Wifi was fast and reliable, solid coffee & breakfast in the morning, and we were able to make two distinct working spaces for the two of us utilizing the suite setup. Furniture was the standard Residence Inn set, but in better shape than some others I've seen recently. Clean and well taken care of, we would definitely stay again!

I reserved a room here on the 7th to check in on the 8th. Unfortunately I was leaving a horrible AirBnB. Hoping to check in early I called the hotel and spoke with Daisy to see if there were any rooms available to check in early. She said there wasn’t but may be some by the time I arrived there after 11am. Upon arrival around 11:30am it was noticeable that people had checked out late. I did tell her that I requested a digital key. She said as soon as one was ready she’d send it out. I remember telling her that I’ve been told this all before and 9/10 nobody does. I’m thinking at least around 1:30 I will receive it. That time came and went. It is now 2:15p and I had to then make the decision to borrow my sis-in-law’s hotel room in New Paltz to get ready for a wedding that was starting at 3:30p. Back across the River I go. It is now 5 or 6pm. I called the hotel to figure out what’s going on with my digital key. Now I’m told I can’t be assigned one because my military ID has to be verified AND the card didn’t go through (Zip). I have never had an issue getting a digital key at check in with any Marriott hotel where I’ve used my ID. Also it states that if the military ID isn’t verified then the room charge will change to the current rate. I decided not to check in since the attendant said my card wasn’t going through AND it would be 10pm or later by the time I would be able to come back across the Hudson River to show my military ID. By 6am the next day my money was taken out of my account. I feel as if they thought I was lying about my ID and purposely gave me a hard time. I will be contacting someone to get my refund.

I have to say that I was very impressed by the Residence Inn in Poughkeepsie. I was amazed by how big the rooms were and they were very clean upon arrival. The rooms I think are for longer stay customers as they have a small kitchen, a sitting room and office space and a full bedroom with full bath that you can close the door and let the other person work while you are sleeping. I really liked the office space as I got a lot of work done here and when I was finished, I went into the bedroom and closed the door to relax. The bed was soft and firm and I got the most excellent night's sleep. It was so quiet in my part of the hotel and I got a wonderful rest that night. The bathroom was nice sized and I was able to relax in the tub after a long day at work. The breakfast the next morning was standard but was good. There was scrambled eggs and sausage with pastries, toast, cereal, fruit and yogurt. It was a nice selection and you could back as many times as you wanted. It was a nice way to start the morning. Everyone at the Front Desk was really nice and the check in and check out was so easy. I will plan on staying here again in the future when I am in the area.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom executive suite. A big plus was that the two rooms are opposite one another & each room had its own bathroom & shower. Walking distance to a CVS & about 15 minutes from the FDR historic home. Right by the FDR home is the Eveready Diner, a retro must try diner. Do not purchase snacked from market store in Residence Inn-overpriced. The hotel is pet friendly and one dog was off its leash, which I didn't like & is legally not permitted. The free breakfast is fine (good bagel, eggs, juices, coffee) but no longer do they have pancakes, waffles, French toast & little danishes. The 2 bedroom suite is great but the shower is not strong. The receptionist misquoted the extra $20 holding fee, which I was not going to pay, but the manager explained this price comes off upon leaving. The pool goes up to 4 feet and you must tap your card "twice" to get into pool. WiFi is poor but you can watch HBO max for free. The problem was the connection would stop often and then you had to start your movie all over again. Nice towels in room, only one small soap. But for the above mishaps, I would have given a 4 rating. Hope the Residence Inn adds the usual food items to their breakfast & addresses the quirks I encountered. There is a refrigerator, dishes, forks, table, nice couch & chair in the room + 3 tvs. Each bedroom gets a TV + there is another TV in the kitchen/couch area. Hope this helps other travelers.

We stay here one night to visit the Roosevelt library. The hotel is located in a nice area with restaurants and shops near by. It is older hotel and could use some updating , when you flush the toilet It made a super loud noise. I asked for body lotion at the front desk they said they did not have any that I could buy some from the store … I could not believe it . Body lotion used to be standard in the room with soap , shampoos etc but for some reason they do not put it i. The room , so you have to ask for it at most place now a days but to not have any all And then tell me to buy some . I could not believe it. The breakfast was lacking, a few hard boiled eggs , cereal , no bread to make toast , only English muffin Bagel. No peanut butter out do I asked and the guy Brings this giant jar out .so I took a knife and placed some in a cup to use. Other staff members at night were friendly and helpful.
