Kat was amazing from the moment we arrived; going out of her way to find a room away from any noise, to accommodate for my partner’s autism. The team at 1 Hotel (Lola, Omar and Secky also outstanding!) are exactly why this is our 5th visit!

Family event. Some of us stayed at 1 Hotel and others stayed at the Marriott. We paid four times what they charge at the Marriott and everyone agreed the amenities at the Marriott were far better than 1 Hotel. I guess you pay for the view. It’s a hassle asking for turndown service but you don’t get it anyway. No nightly bottles of water, no glassware, dark, never figured out lighting system, no restocking minibar, second sink is in toilet alcove which is so weird as it’s only semiprivate , couldn’t find telephone not on nightstand or desk, sinks have no stoppers, no table or chairs for room service, unconventional floor plan is inconvenient and challenging especially in the middle of the night, no paper or pencil in room. When you add up all the basic amenities you don’t get or have to go out of the way to ask, it is barely a 3 star hotel. Big mistake. Should have stayed at the Marriott and save $2,000

I stayed at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge for a girls weekend, and it was an absolutely amazing experience! The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the bath products—they smelled fantastic and added a touch of luxury to my stay. One of the highlights was enjoying drinks at Harriet’s Rooftop Bar. The cocktails were fantastic, and the views of the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge were simply outstanding—truly unforgettable. Dinner at The Osprey was another highlight; the food was delicious, and I highly recommend starting with the burrata appetizer—it’s a must-try! I only wish I had stayed longer because I didn’t get a chance to check out the spa and gym, which I’ve heard great things about. Overall, my experience was exceptional, and I can’t wait to return for a longer stay to enjoy everything the hotel has to offer. Bonus: we had a celebrity sighting (Shawn Mendes) & he was SO gracious to allow us old(er) ladies a photo with him!!!

Unfortunately, I can’t say this hotel is worth the money/time spent and doesn’t live up to the standard of a five star hotel. I wanted to love this place, but simply unable. Biggest takeaway you need to acknowledge when booking this hotel is that what you are paying for is the view and lobby aesthetic. For some, that’s enough but I just expected more from a five star hotel. Pros: most of the staff were extremely pleasant (Reception, staff in the upstairs lounge and the restaurant on the ground floor, etc). Great views from the upstairs lounge and room (if you pay for it). Lobby is well decorated and lives into their “sustainable” narrative. Cons: the mattress
I mean that should be the most critical element to their business model given that they’re a hotel. You could physically feel the springs pressing up through the mattress, on top of the fact it was the most firm mattress I’ve experienced at a hotel. Their pet policy
they dub themselves as pet friendly and request that you don’t leave your pet alone in the room, which I agree with. Unfortunately they don’t allow dogs in their dining areas, which is again understandable. I stepped out for 15 minutes to grab food to go and received an extremely rude call telling me to return back to my room immediately because my dog barked. I explained I was just grabbing food to go and was rudely referred to the pet agreement I signed. If you’re pet friendly yet don’t allow dogs in areas of the building, what is a guest supposed to do? Either be pet friendly and give guests at least a short grace period - or don’t allow pets at all. Totally understand that all guests have a right to enjoy the property, but that goes both ways. I also dealt with people slamming doors at all hours of the night/morning, yelling in the hallways and could hear music from the lounge or someone’s room nearby - but this is NYC so no one should expect complete silence. At minimum, at least approach the situation with a little bit more diplomacy and respect for a guest. Lastly, the functionality of the hotel room itself
the hotel definitely had aesthetic in mind vs. functionality. The water from the shower leaked under the shower door and onto the floor. The toilet area was extremely tiny with a movable toilet paper stand inside because the area is so little. Feels like you’re in a closet, instead of using the restroom in your room at a five star hotel. Overall, best piece of advice I can give is to skip staying at the hotel all together and just visit the restaurant or rooftop lounge, unless you’re in the market to pay simply for the views from your room (which you can get from upstairs). I’ve had countless more enjoyable experiences staying at other high affluent hotel properties throughout the city.
