Element Harrison Newark

I’m hesitant to write this review for fear the hotel will be flooded with reservations due to my tens of followers—but alas, it’s only fair to the staff to write this rave review. It all started when my family and I decided to take a trip to New York City. Given our middle-income status, we needed something a bit more affordable than staying in the city. We originally booked a competitor hotel about 20 minutes from the Harrison PATH station, which ended up being a horrible experience, I will save that for another review. But when we decided to extend our vacation, I knew we needed to find a better option for lodging. While taking the PATH train from Harrison, I noticed the Element Hotel right next to the station and thought how convenient it would be to stay there. I figured it couldn’t be worse than where we were staying—and little did I know how awesome it would be. Upon arrival, I simply went inside to ask if we could park in the garage for the day and check in later that night after our day in the city. I also asked if there was a cutoff time for check-in. That’s when I met Bridget—who was the friendliest. She let me know that a room was already ready for check-in if we preferred to do that instead. Ummm… yes please! And thank you! She offered me some bottles of water, pointed out their refresh cucumber water station and was very informative of all the hotel ammenities. That set the tone for the rest of the stay. Every staff member we encountered was extremely friendly—from Bridget to Una at the front desk and beyond. The rooms were spacious and clean, and as my kids kept saying, “This room is like a palace!” The complimentary relaxing glass of wine, beer, and tea station in the evening was fantastic, and the breakfast in the morning was absolutely scrumptious. On top of all that, the location is incredibly convenient—just a short walk 50 foot walk to the PATH station, and you’re in NYC in 20–25 minutes. Overall, I wish we had booked the Element Hotel from the beginning. We will most definitely be staying there again on our next trip to the city (once my wallet recovers from its New York beating).

A hidden gem! Very upscale and modern. Wonderfully spacious rooms with full kitchens. Comfy beds. Free breakfast with large variety. Nice bar/restaurant. Front desk could not have been more friendly or helpful. Kind of tucked away but actually close to everything. Would definitely stay here again!

This hotel definitely lived up to its ratings. I stayed here for a quick in-and-out trip, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, providing the perfect environment for a short stay. It delivered exactly what I was looking for—no surprises, just great quality. Check-in was seamless, and the staff was not only friendly but also interactive, making me feel right at home. 1 minor complaint- please be sure to wipe down closet doors and robes would be a nice touch. I’ll definitely be back for my next visit!

This was our second time at this very nice hotel. It’s conveniently located, right next to the PATH station if you’re heading into Manhattan. We rent a vehicle and drive everywhere, and it’s in a convenient location for that, too. Forty minutes to our favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Forty minutes to the upper West Side of Manhattan. Thirty minutes to visit our family in Hazlet. Parking is about $20 a day with unlimited in & out. First and foremost the property is clean. The rooms are a good size, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet. I’d like a better selection of channels on the TV but that’s a minor issue. Nice little complimentary breakfast. Pretty good exercise facility. The staff are all incredibly nice and helpful, especially at the front desk. I hope they continue to maintain the hotel so it stays in good shape, because we intend to make this our go-to property when we stay in NJ.

Very nice and clean hotel. This was my first time staying at an Element. Alex on the front desk was awesome. Very friendly and super helpful. The fitness center was clean and all of the equipment in perfect working order which is something I don’t always see. Even the maintenance folks were super friendly. Looking forward to my next stay when I return in a couple of months.
