This is a hidden gem (sorta). We have stayed here many times and alway get a suite. They are themed with old movie stars, presidents and singers. When we arrived we were upgraded to one of the newly remodled suites. They did a great job. The rooms were a little dated before and the upgrades are great. Fridge, Microwave and coffee maker all brand new. The stripped the the rooms down to the frame and redid it all. New modern showers and sinks. We always enjoy the casino. The people are so nice and they have micro brews which are complimentary if you are playing.

We wanted to stay at this nostalgic hotel where many stars have stayed, as well as our parents, in years past. It is definitely a throwback to old times. The hotel has a lot of really neat memorabilia on the 5th & 6th floors and in the lobby. There are stars of famous people who have stayed there on the sidewalk in the front. There is now a Denny's in the building for a free Value combo breakfast, which was nice. There's a casino on the first floor and you get two free drinks with your stay. The town was once a bustling city of action, but today, it is old and spent. Many storefronts are closed up. There are tons of hotels, and even some brothels are still open. My disappointment came in the rooms. There was not microwave or fridge in the room. The room was very old. The bedroom dresser in the room was the furniture, and it was old and worn out and probably from the 60s, but not in a cool way. It wasn't neat antique furniture, it was cheap laminated wood, with the lamination peeling and chipped off (about 75%). It definitely needs to be replaced. The bathroom was super small. The bathtub had mold in it and there was not drain stopper to take a bath. The internet was useless, didn't hardly work. The staff was friendly, but didn't have many resources to work with. I won't recommend staying here again, but once for the experience and memories is now on the books.

I enjoyed my one-night stay there. Great location with a couple of really nice restaurants within walking distance. The staff was exceptionally nice and friendly. My family actually commented on that a few times. If I'm ever in Ely again, I'll stay there.

The room was nicely renovated, very clean with friendly staff. We stayed in a family suite, mostly to have a fridge and microwave. The room was nice and a good value. Minor issues included a super tight bathroom, low grade in-room coffee and having to deal with the cigarette smoke on the casino floor to check in. The good news is the rooms are smoke free. The breakfast voucher at Dennys in the lobby was also a nice touch and they had good coffee. This place is totally worth a try considering the chain hotels are in algorithm-based extortion/collusion mode these days.

We loved this historic hotel! The staff was extremely friendly, and the free breakfast at Denny’s was very good. We stayed in the John Schneider room and it was sparkling clean and the decor was charming. The price was very reasonable. The lobby was a little smoky from the first floor casino but the rooms were not. We were only in the area for one night so we can’t say a lot about the town, but we definitely recommend staying at the Nevada. Fun stop!
