I've been a fan of Homewood Suites for years but this one, sadly, is by far the worst I've stayed in. * the sink barely drained (this they fixed after I called) * the window finally opened but has a broken piece hanging down * both chairs accompanying the "dining table" are so wobbly as to threaten imminent collapse. * the Kleenex dispenser in the bathroom had 2 tissues left. * the phone was unplugged * one bulb in main living room light was dead * a gauge in frame outside the room door looked as if someone once entered with a crowbar * the parking lanes in underground garage are so narrow that if you park within one in a normal size car you're likely to hit the adjoining car when you open your car door * they assured me (after I asked) that we'd have housekeeping but nobody showed up until I called back, was put on hold 3 times and was eventually told that we could have a partial housekeeping * and to cap it off there was no peanut butter in an otherwise well-stocked breakfast (with plastic cutlery only, though in the last two Homewood Suites I've stayed in the metal kind was available too) Bad show, Hilton!

I resd some of the reviews and I’m surprised that anyone could give this hotel less than 5 Stars! We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel for our weekend visit to Boston and we felt that the Homewood Suites met sll of our needs. For starters, parking was free and they have an indoor garage! The suite had a full suzed refrigerator and a decent kitchen, plus every guest was able to enjoy a free breakfast that offered a great selection of fruit, eggs, oatmeal, yogurt and other healthy choices. There’s a laundry room snd a great gyym and the housekeeping staff snd drint desk folks were always available to assist us. There were two flat screen televisions and the rooms offered us all the necessities for a lovely vacation! There were two price was affordable and we will definitely return on our next visit!

I will return to this location in the future because it is ideal for the 'bohemian' type of trips my wife and I have been taking recently. We enjoy staying in a clean, comfortable hotel, and leaving the car in a sheltered parking garage, and spending the rest of the trip 'bumming around' the city via mass transit. 15 minute walk to Alewife 'T' station, and from there, a short subway ride into Boston. Or you can walk the many recreational trails which run right past the hotel, and link up with other trails at the trail intersection near the train station. One of the trails runs right into Boston if you want to walk that far. We took the train to Wonderland, to Forest Hills, and to Fenway, walking back along the rail route for an hour or so, and then taking the train back into the city from another stop. We have done this in Weehawken, NJ, in Washington DC, and now Boston. The only part that I caution against is coming back to Alewife late at night, a bit sketchy. Hotel staff was excellent, hotel was clean, rooms a bit bigger that a standard 2-bed room (a sitting area/kitchenette) and the parking garage was an incredible amenity, especially in the winter when it could snow.
