This is not a B&B at present. They don't do breakfast anymore, but managements says they're thinking of bringing it back in the future. We were handed a paper bag with some pretzels and instant oatmeal when we checked in, and that was all. That said, the Inn is quite lovely inside, with lots of nooks and crannies including a reading library. As far as I could tell, there are stairs to climb to get to any room, and no elevator that I know of. The rooms on the lowest level are actually below ground, so be aware that the cheaper room rates are probably one of those with small windows up high to let in light. Our room was on the first floor (one flight of stairs) with high ceilings and large windows looking out to the back of the property, The architecture is really interesting (Victorian I'm told) and generally appealing. We did find that repairs and landscaping were needed in many places to spruce things up. But the setting was peaceful, only a few miles from downtown Columbia Mall and yet in the quiet and undeveloped countryside. Don't try to check in early unless you're willing to pay the $20 fee (they should drop that one. Tacky in my opinion).

The bed was Tempur-Pedic and very comfortable. It was the same type I use at home, so it was just like sleeping at home. The staff was very attentive and ensured that I had everything I need to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Stayed here with my husband last week. I've had better sleep on an airplane and a cleaner room at a Motel 6. I strongly advise you to not stay here, but if you must, absolutely don't stay in the basement room (Suite T). The Inn advertises Tempur-Pedic beds, but apparently with this room, you get 2 innerspring mattresses that are 13 years old and one of which was broken. Look, I have stayed in hotels that looked much nicer in their online pictures, but I have always shrugged it off and dealt with it. After a nearly sleepless night of tossing and turning, I said to hell with this, I'm not sleeping another night on this rock of a bed. I went to the front desk to let them know one of the beds was broken and the lady acted like I had told her aliens invaded the room or something. "The bed is BrOkeN?!" Yes, it's broken. It's sinking in the middle and the slats under it have fallen out. She said she'd check on it in a bit and then very casually and slowly left to go get something from her car. She eventually started the trek downstairs and I began to tell her how uncomfortable the 1 working bed is (since I thought we'd be getting Tempur-Pedic mattresses as advertised) and she abruptly stopped and said, "Oh, so do you want to upgrade your room?" I told her I don't want to pay for an upgrade and she gave me the sarcastic, "Oh, okay" response like that Jennifer Lawrence gif. I told her I either wanted a room upgrade or to check out. After inspecting the bed and determining that it was, in fact, broken, just like I said, she said she'd call the manager. The manager agreed to upgrade our room. We were almost put in the room at the front right of the property, but a wooden step leading up to it was broken, so the lady put us elsewhere. I don't know how this place hasn't been sued into oblivion yet. The upgraded room was certainly better, but we still had stained pillowcases and towels and the microwave turntable didn't turn. The whole place is pretty much like this...things in disrepair, some of which seem so obvious, it must be a choice to not fix them. As a side note , my fault for not doing better research, but this is not a bed and breakfast anymore. Instead, you get a grab bag of blueberry muffins (mine were expired), very crunchy, dry granola bars that taste like cardboard, some packets of instant oatmeal along with paper bowls and plastic utensils, and a couple of juice drinks. They use Covid as an excuse to not serve breakfast anymore, but we all know this is more about saving a buck than Covid fears. It's a shame this place has become the way it is. It's a beautiful house with beautiful grounds and has so much potential. It needs TLC that the current management is clearly not going to spend the money on. I hope someone else takes it over and makes it the gem I thought I was going to be staying at.

The boutique hotel was better than prior ratings. The room we had was quant with access to the interior and exterior. The library and sitting area is a benefit. The property is very quiet and had very few people during our stay. We would stay again.

My first impression upon entering, the basement room was look at the stains on the carpet! I allowed myself to look past that and thought the rest of the room was well appointed. However, upon pulling back the covers to climb in bed, I realized it felt and sounded like I was sleeping on a plastic diaper. The plastic diaper was absent in some places and bunched in others. I assumed the conversation clearly audible through the adjoining room door would die down as the night crew later, and certainly by 10 o’clock, which is the beginning of their ““hours“. There was a mother and child And some other adult, it was obvious. Their conversations, laughter, and interactions lasted into the morning hours, providing a little sleep for the person on the other side of the adjoining door, myself. Unfortunately, this was my experience the next night as well. I ended up calling to the front desk to report the frustration. The noises did move from the room beside me, however, they apparently moved to the common areas upstairs, above my bed. These common areas are supposed to be off-limits after 10 o’clock. In summary, the staff were not friendly, or smiling, not hospitable. The room was greatly wanting, and on my weekend of rest away from home, I got less rest, then if I had just stayed in my own basement.
