Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Downtown Waterfront

I stayed here for three weeks while visiting Portland for the first time. I have to say the entire experience was wonderful from check-in to check-out. This is a first-rate staff that goes above and beyond when it comes to customer service. My suite was wonderful and felt like home from the moment I stepped inside. And the location of this hotel can't be beat, as its just steps from the Casco Bay. This will definitely be my first choice for a hotel when I return to Portland.

The location was great! The staff was friendly and warm. Top notch house keeping staff. The rooms were large - just wished that it offered better views being so close to the water. The parking for the hotel is offsite- about a block away and so be mindful of that if you have luggage to transport.

If you want the "white-glove" treatment to be transported around Portland, be sure to ask for Gabe @ Guest Services! He understands how people need to be treated when they are traveling and is a wealth of local recommendations. Go with Gabe!

We stayed at this hotel with a pre-cruise package and were quite delighted! The registration process was easy, and the gal who welcomed us was very friendly and helpful regarding the hotel and the area. Our room was very comfortable, and breakfast was excellent! Enjoyed the bar and convenient adjacent sitting area. Wish there was a restaurant, but guest services directed us to multiple delicious eateries within walking distance. Only inconvenience was that the hotel didn't have a shuttle service to/from airport.

I stayed 3 nights on a weekend trip with my adult daughters. We loved the hotel but I do have a couple of recommendations to make it better. The things we loved were the comfortable lobby, convenient breakfast, and the layout of our 2 bedroom suite. The gym is also very nice. It would be even better if the living room loveseat, which seems to be missing rear cushions, was upgraded to something more comfortable. Also, there is a nice table and a desk but no other upholstered seating. I think a comfy chair would be more useful than the desk since there is already a table. It’s definitely a great location and great option especially for a group of 3 or 4 people.
