I donât normally write reviews on day 1 of a 7 day stay however I felt I must undo the potential damage of the previous reviewer to this. We arrived at the hotel to be greeted by Chelsea, a lovely individual who could not have been more helpful or accommodating. She was professional and made our check in a breeze and made my wife and I laugh with her great sense of humour. Individuals should never be named in negative reviews; it is simply unfair when they do not have the opportunity to defend themselves. The hotel itself is great given the very reasonable price. Our room is lovely and spacious and was spotlessly clean. As mentioned in other reviews the carpets could do with a refresh however this was not a showstopper! The breakfast was excellent, even at peak traffic time at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. The cooked food was hot & tasty. The internet (critical to my need to stay in touch with work back in the UK) was good. If I was to make one minor criticism it would be noise. At 01:30 am I was woken by shouting, banging of doors which went on for some time. Also, there was merriment in the pool area right outside our window. It is not the hotelsâ fault that there were noisy inconsiderate guests however it would be good if the night staff could be more proactive particularly with noise from public areas!

Iâve been staying at this property for the same dates with the same room setupâ2 rooms for 2 nightsâfor the past 5 years. Weâve always loved this location and have never had any issues⊠until now. Unfortunately, this stay was far from pleasant due to the neglectful and rude behavior of some of the front desk staff, particularly an agent named Chelse. Her lack of professionalism and unwillingness to assist was extremely disappointing. We were dealing with a broken AC unit in one of our roomsâon an 80-degree night in New Orleans, thatâs unacceptable. The room was full of teenagers celebrating my little brotherâs birthday, and because it was so hot, his nose actually started to bleed. I told the front desk girl this, and she still didnât seem to care. We initially asked for extra towels and were told none were available because housekeeping hadnât washed them yetâsomething I found odd as someone whoâs worked in hospitality for 5 years. When we brought up the broken AC again, we asked for fans or even a room switch. Chelse said the hotel was fully booked, offered no alternative, and showed zero concernâuntil much later when she offered to move us to the opposite side of the property (which wouldnât work because we had two rooms across from each other). When I explained this and asked again for fans to get us through the night, she hung up in my face. The entire experience with her was incredibly rude and unprofessional. Meanwhile, the maintenance technician, Toi, was excellentâhe confirmed the AC couldnât be fixed right away, brought five fans to help us stay comfortable, and truly went above and beyond. He was the only reason we didnât leave. To their credit, the hotel did eventually fix the AC unit the next day around noon, and they also sent up a bottle of champagne. While that gesture was appreciated, it didnât make up for the stress, discomfort, and lack of service we experienced our first night. Chelseâs dismissive attitude and inability to provide basic customer care does not reflect the Southern hospitality New Orleans is known for. Itâs a shame, because this used to be a go-to property for us. She seemed more concerned with flirting with the valet staff than doing her job. Hospitality is about serviceâand unfortunately, she failed at every step. I truly hope management addresses this, because the Sonesta brand usually stands for much better than what we experienced this time around.

Pretty much everything we needed. Had a dog park for my two dogs to run around in. Breakfast was great! About a twenty minute walk to the French Quarter. Spacious, clean room with refrigerator, stove, and microwave. Parked two days in fenced pay lot about a block away for $50 on app, though sign said $20 a day. Tennis and basketball court. Relaxing fire pit near the pool. Would definitely stay again.

I want to first say that the Manager Derek Styles went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed after being in the wrong room. When we begin to have internet issues he allowed me to use the media center to complete my work for a project that had a deadline. I can't say enough about southern hospitality, exceptional customer service and just good manners. I was stressed about not being able to access the internet for work so I was so appreciative on this save!! This staff is so amazing from the Manager, to the Valet, Buddy, the Security Officer Darryl, the Engineer, Toi, the breakfast staff and Sammie/Jordan at the front desk who were always accommodating. We had an AMAZING week and will definitely be back next year. We also LOVED the access to the Interstate which was three minutes away!

I stayed at the Sonesta ES Suite New Orleans Convention on March 5th, for a work trip. That night, while I was asleep around 11 p.m., I was awoken when I heard loud knocking and someone trying to open the front door. I went to check and noticed the security lock moved, indicating that someone did try to open the door. I went back to my room, and a few minutes later, I heard someone knocking loudly and aggressively attempting to open my door again. I shouted, âWho is it?â A man replied and said that he was security and I should not be in the room, and that I shouldâve been checked out. I know this is incorrect because I had just checked in a few hours prior. I asked for identification, but he did not provide it. Instead, he said he had the master key and could open any door. I asked again for identification, then another man appeared and said he was the manager (Derek). I opened the door to speak to Derek. He began to question me, asking for my name, what time I checked in, and my ID. I gave him my ID. He then told me to stay by the phone while they sorted it out. By this time, I was shaken. I was staying alone at this hotel. I texted my colleagues, and they came to my room immediately. The manager called my room, saying my name wasnât on the reservation, which is ridiculous because I gave my ID to the girl who checked us in when we switched the room over. My colleagues and I went to the front to sort it out. It was an error on their part, and Derek was aware of it, but nothing was done to compensate for this harassment. As a woman staying alone, this is very alarming. This man was wearing sunglasses at 11 pm banging on my door, trying to open it, and saying he was security and had the master key to open any door. What am I to think? This was not handled correctly. They should have called my room first or kept knocking. Had I not had the security lock on, he wouldâve walked into my room while I was sleeping or in the shower. I was in absolute shock and felt harassed. I hope this gets handled and the staff gets trained on how to handle these situations
