I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in downtown Indianapolis, and I can confidently say I will never be returning. The hotel itself may be decent, but the night auditorâs appalling customer service completely ruined our experience. We were already checked in and in-house when my son, whose name was on the reservation, needed a key to our room. Simple request, right? Apparently not. The night auditor flat-out refused to provide him with a key, despite him being a registered guest. When I called to address the issue, she hung up on meânot once, but twice. This is completely unacceptable behavior for any customer-facing employee, let alone someone working the front desk of a Hilton property. Guests should not have to deal with rudeness, unprofessionalism, and blatant disregard for basic hospitality. If youâre looking for a hotel where youâll be treated with respect and common courtesy, I strongly suggest you stay elsewhere. Hilton should seriously reconsider who they put in charge of their night operations because this person has no business working in hospitality.

My family and I have stayed at this hotel about 20 times in the last 15 years. Indy has a great downtown area - safe, good parking, and good restaurants. Iâve gone with my kids and wife to to college basketball at Butler/ Purdue, Pacers games, Howl at the Moon, and the Olympic swim trials . The hotel is a perfect location with very spacious rooms , but what makes it a cut above is the customer service attitude of the front desk members and the breakfast team. My recent experience where we had to cancel a family weekend stay due to weather-related travel issues was another great experience as they were totally fair about my late cancellation - a very well-run hotel that I highly recommend.

We stayed the night after a colts game. The room was incredibly spacious and perfect for a family of 5. Room was clean and tidy, as so was the hallways. The kids and adults had plenty of room. The rate for a night I found very reasonable, and the breakfast had a great selection to satisfy everyone. The location is right in middle of downtown near everything and walkable to the stadiums. The Killroy Bar and Grill handles their room service and got undone to our room 15 minutes faster than time the told me and the portions were huge and food was delicious. Prices for food were reasonable as well. The kids enjoyed the inside pool! We did have a problem with our room, so I reported it and the staff and hotel handled things very professionally and made it right without needing to fuss. I will say the worst part of this hotel is the parking. If you donât pay for the valet (50 buck a night) which is steep, you have to park on the street of a block away at a parking garage. I think they need to lower the valet price to help compensate for the inconvenience of self parking but itâs inner city problems so. Regardless we will stay here again!

Hotel itself was fine. Location (Meridian St) is LOUD @ night. Not a place to stay if youâre not here to party and listen to guys revving their muscle cars and motorcycle engines all night long along Meridian St. I can deal with the people noises, but the car engines and loud bass from neighbor bars was constantâŠeven on Sunday night after midnight.

My biggest beef about this hotel was the front desk. I attempted to check in early but nothing was available. That's fine. They had a wonderful business center and I worked from there. When I did go to check in, after 4 pm, the desk agent barely looked up from their personal phone to get me a key. Every time I went past the desk, she was on her cell phone. I'd watch people walk up to the desk and same thing. There is so much the front desk crew could be doing. No one should be on their personal phone at work constantly. Checking it? Sure. Scrolling through? No. I would hope the hotel isn't paying someone to do that. The second front desk issue was I had a lamp out and reported it. The rooms are not well lit and that lamp on the side of the bed was key. Nope. Not replaced, Not fixed. The desk didn't even acknowledge or mention it. The mid-week reception is a nice addition. Breakfast was ok. The room was huge but faced an alley. The shining moment of the stay was the always friendly and helpful valet folks - male and female. Perfectly handled when I arrived and when I left at 4 am for the airport. Kudos.
