I’ve worked in hotels for 20 years and travel often, but my stay at Extended Stay America – Chicago O’Hare – Allstate Arena was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I don’t typically write reviews, but this was so bizarre that I feel the need to warn others. 1. Two Hotels, Same Name – Total Confusion This location is actually two separate hotels with the same name, and the difference is not clear anywhere online. Internally, they seem to call one "Deluxe," but the front desk teams act like they’re completely unrelated. I booked a Double Queen Suite with a couch and breakfast, but my confirmation said King Suite in tiny letters. Upon arrival, my reservation "wasn’t found"—because it was at the other hotel. 2. Hallway Smells, Paid Towels, No Basic Hospitality Requested a rollaway bed for our third guest—was given one without a blanket or pillow. Hallways smelled so bad we had to buy Lysol just to get to our room without gagging. Asked for extra towels and was told they cost $1.78 each. We paid nearly $700 for four nights, and yet towels weren’t complimentary?! 3. The Dumpster Incident Trying to be helpful, I took my own trash downstairs to discard it. Instead of taking it, the front desk agent instructed me to go outside and throw it in the dumpster myself. He even held the door open so I wouldn’t get locked out. I was in shock. The only positive was the friendly front desk agent at check-in. Otherwise, this hotel completely fails at basic hospitality. From misleading booking details and awful smells to charging for towels and directing guests to dumpsters, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. If you’re considering staying here, double-check which hotel you’re actually booking, and be prepared for disappointment. There are much better options in the area.

We stayed for 2 weeks. The place is remote fron Chicago center like 1 hour in train, 15 min to the airport. But the surroundings are very quiet, it is close to several shops and restaurants and a huge outlet. It is very accessible and good value for money. They only cleaned the room once a week, I didnt like it to be honest, but they had the flexibility to help us sometimes with the cleaning lady and go see what we needed. I do recommend it if you have a business travel, something quickly to stay and leave, they have enough space in the rooms, big sofa, kitchen, fridge, 2 beds and bathroom. it is just a hotel for passing through, make some shopping and leave nothing luxurious but it has everything within reach.

We stayed for almost 3 months and I can say nothing but good things! The room was clean, the mattress amazing, the pillows fluffy, the reception staff always super friendly, the cleaning staff very professional and friendly, the 24/7 laundry room being well taken care of, the breakfast room well stacked at breakfast time and clean at all times. When we needed to change towels between housekeeping dates, or needed more garbage bags, etc., we could do so at the reception very easily. I felt well being taken care of and safe while my husband was on business trips during our stay. The full kitchen is fantastic, even an oven with the cooking range and a full refrigerator with freezer on top. We were able to really make this room our home while between 2 homes, waiting for our new home :-) There is a Target and some shops & food places only 20 minutes walk away, and I loved to go to the nearby Aquatic Center several times a week. We would come back any time!

First, Priceline’s ad said there’s a pool. There’s no pool. They have a grill area, but there were people smoking out there so we never went out there. The hotel room was basic but dirty. When we unfolded the sofa bed, there was a used tissue in the bed. There were hairs on the towels that didn’t belong to either of us. The kitchenette sink leaked. The modem went down while we were there so there was no Wi-Fi. If you wanted more than the basic Wi-Fi, you had to pay anyway. They said, “If you need faster Wi-Fi, pay $X.XX”. I wasn’t about to pay extra for internet so it was slow. Also, while we were packing up, the fire alarm went off. They claimed they accidentally set it off while testing it. The stairwell always smelled of pet urine. The phones never worked. We arrived to barely any toilet paper, and we were told to come to the desk if we needed anything additional.
