I CAN JUST SAY THAT EVEN THEIR ROLL AWAY BEDS WERE SUPER COMFORTABLE. THE WHITE TEA SENTED SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER ANDTHE LAVENDER ROLL ON FOR SLEEPING WERE SUCH A NICE TOUCH AND ANNA AT THE FRONT DESK WAS SO KIND AND INFORMATIVE. THIS PROPERTY IS JUST EXCITING AND BEAUTIFUL. i EVEN GOT TO HOLD TWO OF THEIR BEAUTIFUL BIRDS THAT THEY HAVE ON PROPERTY AND I MET A GUEST WHO WILL A LIFELONG FRIEND. THE MAITAI'S ARE YUMMY THE LUAU WAS THE BEST AND THE POOLS JUST PERFECT AND FUN AN ALL AROUND GREAT TRIP PLUS THEY HAVE FLOWATER WHICH WAS JUST COOL AND THEY HAVE WATER BOTTLES THAT THEY GIVE YOU. YOU WILL WANT TO BUY STICKERS FOR EACH ONE THOUGH SO THAT YOU CAN IDENTIFY YOUR PERSONAL WATER BOTTLE.

Just got back from a great stay at the Westin Maui with my wife and two teens over spring break. Overall higher end hotel with beautiful grounds and pools that I'd rate 4.5 stars. Not an adult oasis, expect lots of kids and families. The staff was super nice, only nit was the front desk seemed understaffed at times. I can recommend the Hokupaa Tower - while you pay a premium, you get access to the Lanai level which provides food (excellent breakfast, then smaller dinner bites, not as consistently good), desserts, and non-alcoholic drinks (a bar is available too). Minor gripe would be parents who let their smaller kids run around the Lanai like a playground (again, not an oasis). Still, the tower seemed less busy with rarely an elevator wait. Like other reviewers, I strongly recommend the "Luxury Ocean" room to ensure you are NOT facing Whaler's Village and subject to early AM truck delivery noise. The Luxury Ocean (two queen) is actually pretty spacious, as was the bathroom - very clean and nice. The fitness center is also in the tower - great for cardio equipment (has multiple Pelotons too), adequate for weights with 2 benches (max 50lb dumbbells only) and some machines. Pools, beach, and cabanas. Tip - on check in, ask for extra pool towel cards. Lots of pools, not a complete zoo like I expected during spring break. There is also an "adult deck" higher (18+) with a normal pool, hot tub (not very hot), and sandy bottom infinity pool (a bit small but nice). All pools nicely warmed. Caveat, you do have to get up early to snag pool chairs, probably 7:15a for desirable ones: kids pool for parents, umbrella shaded ones on the beachfront deck. Adult deck you could show up later, except for the ultimate view spot (you'll know when you see it), probably 6a for that! Beach is steps from the property and beautiful with plenty of space. I'd recommend renting beach chairs ahead or the beach casabellas; we did both and preferred the casabellas. We also rented a Hale Hoomalu on the beachfront deck, not a great value for only two people (you can bring in another chair) but still very nice; shaded and breezy. Food and drink service was very good. We stayed mostly on property, and was pleasantly surprised by the food options. The bar (Moolelo) and pool/beach food was very good (ironically the exception was the poke bowl, which was meh). The market was convenient (pizza decent) for snacks and desserts. Ulu Kitchen was solid, the Maui Burger was excellent for lunch there. Of course, there is a Starbucks on site as well. Other notes - location was excellent for Kaanapali. Right next to Whaler's Village if you want to wander and shop; also good restaurants (Hula Grill was solid) and an Island Vintage Coffee (awesome!). Also great walking exercise options, especially the boardwalk past Blackrock to the Westin Villas. If you plan on snorkeling off the beach, avoid Blackrock (mostly barren now) and just go right in front of the Hokupaa Tower - there's reef there with much more wildlife (turtles, fish, urchins, even an eel). If you want a more secluded beach, walk over to the beach on the other side of Blackrock. Overall great stay for a chill vacation and would come back next time in Maui because of the location and property quality. I have no idea of people's budget but would say this is not a place if you're looking for "best bang for buck", get free upgrades (eye roll to "elite" Bonvoy members), etc. Expect to pay a premium and also understand they cater to families, not couples.

First time to Maui. Wanted a brand hotel that I recognized that I knew I would be comfortable and safe. The hotel is big and we went during spring break. Many kids were in the area Of the hotel. First – the room We had a suite, room 288 and it was great and phenomenal and very expensive. The views were astronomical from the deck that we had to the porch overlooking the ocean. This suite had a walk-in shower, bathtub or whirlpool on the deck outside of the room, a fire pit And a six person table on the deck. Overlooked the kids pool and was on top of the bar. The only issue that I saw and heard was the music from the bar would come into the room at night time until the music was stopped, either I think 10 or 11. In the morning, you would hear the kids early at the pool that would wake you up. In the middle of the night, it was beautiful. Sounds of the ocean splashing on the beach. For two people, the suite is over abundant, and we had a feeling that we had to spend our time there due to optimizing the suite. There was only one room with a king bed and two big couches that could sleep a few kids on it if need be. The suite was more For entertaining others that we’re not staying in the room The concierge at the hotel was very good and abundant. Usually two or three on duty at all times. I wanted A snorkel tour for turtles And to watch whales. I did not want to be With a large group of people in the concierge had a great suggestion and found a boat that had six passengers total that took us Snorkeling for turtles and had a phenomenal view of the whales migrating. The whales were literally within 5 feet of the boat splashing and playing. Highly suggest the concierge service. It seemed like majority of the restaurants are outsourced. All of them were very good. You can have only so many Poké bowls in a week and I wanted at the end of the vacation more meat than anything else and that was an option at these restaurants. There is an adult pool that is mediocre size, but wasn’t really too crowded either with a bar a few feet away. We did the luau at the Westin and it was a great experience with good food and a great show. It’s a catch 22 with the Westin due to you do get discounts for Shows like the luau and others when there. If you reserve them ahead of time, you may not get those discounts so be aware of those options. The staff was very Gracious all the way around from the front desk to the bellhops to the cleaning people to the bartenders to the White staff. Did not have an issue with any of them. It would’ve been nice to have a car, but it was so freaking expensive for parking that we opted not to, but I may have spent that amount in Uber in in the long run. So a vehicle may not be a bad idea. The beach is gorgeous and plenty of room on it. Highly suggest not being stupid like me and getting fried the first day there and was truly unable to enjoy the full options of the resort due to my sunburn. Was there for seven days and peeled like an onion after my second day and still am and I’ve been back almost a week now The resort is situated near a A high-end shopping center with some very good restaurants. There’s also a great tattoo shop called Banyan tree tattooing not far at all from there. Schedule things ahead of time and make reservations at these restaurants ahead of time and if you’re in no hurry, you could walk up go to the bar have a drink and wait an hour or so For the table. Everything in Maui is expensive. A breakfast for two is anywhere between 60 and $80. Dinner is anywhere between $120-$200. Did you get a batch of laundry done midway through the trip and it cost me 220 Dollars for a medium amount of laundry. FYI, they dry clean everything.

We came here with our two kids (7 and 9) and although there are nice elements to this hotel, we will never stay here again. The pros are that the ponds and pools are beautiful and well-maintained. There are gorgeous views along the boardwalk and the beach is perfection. Definitely the best aspects of the resort. On the other hand, the service is average at best. At check-in, the hosts seemed unhappy to be there and you feel like another cog in the assembly line. I get this happens at hotels but for this price point, this shouldn't be happening. We woke up around 5 am every morning to delivery trucks beeping as they were delivering product to Whaler's Village (right next door). We brought it up to the front desk and she just stared at me awkwardly. I then later check reviews online only to see its a common problem. If you are looking for a quiet and laid-back Hawaii experience, this is not your place. Once you exit elevator, it feels like you're in a busy shopping mall back in the states. There are people everywhere with long lines for just a simple coffee. Again, I get certain hotels are like this and that's fine. But if rooms are *starting* at $700-$800/night, you better be delivering. Crowds are common, especially in touristy places, but then your service should be top-notch since that can be controlled.

We have stayed on Maui several times. This was our first stay at the Westin. Resort on Ka’anapali beach. The location was great! It’s right on the beach, with a couple nice pools. Our room was lovely, with beach views. Service throughout was excellent. I loved being right next to Whalers Village, with the great dining options there, and plenty of shops.
