A very disappointing visit. We’ve been to this property 3 times in the past 10 years. The first two were great, we’ll likely never return. The grounds are still beautiful. A little run down but naturally beautiful. The service isn’t the same. The pool scene is a disaster. The adult pool requires someone to stand in a line that begins at 5:30am to reserve a chair for the day. Not an ideal morning on vacation. If not, there’s little to no chance of spending time there. Rule that option out first thing every morning. The other pool is not for anyone without young kids. There’s wet towels all over the place and it seems really, really dirty. Great for kids, but an overcrowded kindergarten class for everyone else. The gym is a makeshift area with very basic equipment. It’s kind of outside so it’s humid as can be. The food isn’t great anywhere and the guest room was fine. All in all, this place isn’t what it was. The experience matched with the price just doesn’t add up. Never again for us. This is a basic hotel with a good view.

We just returned from the Four Seasons Maui. We have stayed there many times. Boy were we disappointed. The hotel was crowed with corporate events. Service was terrible. Ferraros food was bland, and just not good. For a Four Seasons, they were operating like a Holiday Inn. At the pool, they got our lunch order wrong, TWICE. Dinner at Duo, they got our drink order wrong. The lobby bar carries no premium Tequila, and they did not know how to make a skinny margarita. There is free coffee in the morning in the lower level. When we went to get coffee, there were no paper cups. We asked the hostess several time if she could please get us cups, and she just kept saying she would. 15 minutes later, we went up to the younger hostess, who immediately brought out 2 paper cups. It’s not that hard! It’s the easy things they continued to screw up. The fitness room was under construction. We were not notified of significant renovations going on. The fitness room is currently a tent that is not air conditioned. The Aloha lounge is a room that guests have access to after they check out, to change clothes, shower etc while waiting for flights. However, the room is the size, or smaller, than a hotel room. There had to be 15 people trying to use the room that seats only 4 people. It was ridiculous. No place to go the restroom or charge phones. When we went to the lobby to charge our phone, the hostess at the lobby bar said we couldn’t sit there to charge our phone. Keep in mind there was NOBODY at the lobby bar at that time. This hotel needs to decide if you are a corporate event hotel or a luxury hotel. After years of staying here, unfortunately we cannot recommend it going forward.

I guess I cannot get past the so called dynamic pricing that you have instituted. When challenged, I was told that Las Vegas does it( a bastion of morality). Apparently, there is a 2 tier system-flat rate and dynamic pricing based on supply and demand. I did not know this when booking-- it was not stated-- I do not like deceptive practices. In Western society for countless decades, generally when a property rental agreement is executed, it is at an agreed fixed price whether short or long term. I was just a tenant not a partner. It's amazing, the first night quoted was the lowest price-- all the subsequent nights were more- in one case nearly 50% more. I have spoken to several of my associates and friends about this and they were all appalled and had never heard of such a thing. I was given a small consideration to attempt to mitigate my anger but it was not sufficient to prevent me from writing up this injustice.

We paid $2500+ per day for a 3 star experience. The place is overrun by corporate events: we were engulfed by bus loads of Workiva employees, Brew Brothers offsite and 2 Presidents club parties. There were weddings in addition. So paying guests are outnumbered by people on corporate boondoggles. You have to get up at 6:30am to secure a chair at the pool (ANY chair not just the good ones) there is a minimum 20 minute wait for breakfast tables, and good luck getting a dinner table. Be sure to check your chair for bird poop before sitting down. You should budget a minimum of $700 per day for food for a family of four (drinks will be extra) The resort is under construction, so the gym is a tent with no AC. There is no tennis court and the spa is not a spa. Housekeeping is spotty so check your toiletries have been replenished before you get in the shower. There was trash in the hottub, the pools are PACKED. No chairs at the adult pool but you can watch guys feel each other up if that’s your jam. My daughter was horrified to sit next to two sales guys telling each other how they love to get high when left babysitting their kids. So sad to see this gem so poorly managed. We won’t be back and we’re questioning whether four seasons should be on our list at all.

We have stayed at this property multiple times now so this review should be taken from someone who used to love this place. I used to feel so passionate about this location that my experience this time required my first trip advisor review. My pregnant wife and I just finished a stay at this FS and my goodness, father time has not been good to this property. Usually at this property food, service and views are the highlights. This trip however
.the only thing worth returning for are the views. The rooms are tired, the service is poor and the food is borderline inedible. You will see glowing reviews of multiple food establishments on property but trust me, they are wrong. You will pay 2-3 hundred dollars with each meal and would be able to cook tastier pasta and get better sushi at home or your neighborhood place. How bout a mai tai? The wailea golf course mixes them better. Surely room service is hard to mess up? Think again, absolutely abysmal salad with shrimp that surely came from a bag. That’ll be another 250 dollars please! The resort is also overrun by multiple meetings and large group events, removing any sort of intimacy of the interactions with the staff. They used to remember your name and your drink order
now they leave a menu and pull up their Venmo’s for a tip. As a training location for FS worldwide, I hope this is not the standard they are teaching. Take your hard earned money down the beach to the Fairmount or over to the Ritz at Kapalua. Poor poor job Four Season, shame on you. You were killed just like that famous character in that famous show, that was filmed here. Not even a stay in the pineapple suite (we stayed in a suite) could’ve saved this trip.
