Quick review: very lean, comfortable, well-appointed room with a good breakfast. Friendly, professional staff. Only issue: a barking dog in a nearby room. We stayed 3 nights in room 217. To note: the hotel has an elevator to bring things up to heh second floor.. This room has two comfortable queen beds with lots of pillows, and flexibility in the bedding, i.e. both sheets and duvet to adjust to your warmth preferences (yay!!) All the usual amenities we have come to expect t a good BW property: fridge, microwave, pod coffee maker (delish high quality Green Mountain coffee; bring your own tea, or from breakfast) , desk with ergo chair, comfy sitting chair. The closet has cubby holes, and the chest of drawers, make it easy to settle in and not just work out of your suitcase. Good bedside reading light and ample outlets to plug in your devices on the night table. Wifi and HVAC work well. Tub/shower combination. Shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion provided as toiletries. Very good breakfast buffet of hot and cold items, e.g. scrambled eggs, sausage, breads, cereals, juices, fresh fruit (yay!!!), waffle maker, etc. Good coffee with real half-and-half. My only request: I prefer the little cups of yogurt to the soft yogurt machine that some BW properties seem to be installing lately. The machine yogurt is often vanilla, which is a sweet taste that I think of more as dessert, not breakfast (I do not have a sweet taste in the morning.) In nice weather, you can dine outside on a nice patio overlooking the pool area. Nice to have the local newspaper available. The landscaping and pool area at this BW property are beautiful. Due diligence: the only issue we had at this property is that a guest adjacent to our room left her dog barking incessantly while she was out for dinner or the evening. The night manager did the best he would within the rules of the hotel. I do not oppose a hotel permitting dogs, but would like a penalty to dog owners who leave dogs in their room unattended, similar to a fine for smoking in a non-smoking room. Maybe the hotel already has such a policy, but I hope they enforce it. The area has a number of restaurants; easy on/off the highway. So - I'd be happy to stay here again, but hope to avoid a room near a dog owner.

We were overall very pleased with our stay here, especially since we saved money compared to other lodging closer to the downtown area. This hotel is a great value. First, the staff here deserves a raise. The manager Ramon was excellent, as well as (Marquita?) at the front desk. Also, Ms. Bubbles in the breakfast room is an excellent employee. They all went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. We liked that this "motel" was secluded from the main route. Contrary to other reviews, we liked stepping out of our room to the outside balcony. The grounds and pool area are well maintained and lovely. It was cool during our stay, but in the warmer months, this would be a great place to end your day. The rooms were similar to other modern hotels. The bed was comfortable. The only thing that I didn't like about the room was the "barn-type" sliding door into the bathroom. It offers little privacy as ours didn't fully seal the room off. We did let the staff know that the shower rod was installed incorrectly. It was impossible for the shower curtain to fully stay closed, allowing a lot of water to splash out. After reading other reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue. We would definitely stay here again.

Well-kept but dated property. Room basically clean, but we found previous guest's discarded toothbrush and soap wrapper in waste can...why didn't housekeeping empty it? Nice update of an old-school motel room: modern bathroom with rear-lit mirror, sliding "barn door" access. But...the closet is a cubbyhole style wooden structure in the bathroom, so if you actually hang clothes there, they get humid if you shower. No luggage racks or designated place to put luggage, so we had to put ours on the floor...a minus. There was a porcelain chip in the bathtub that wasn't professionally repaired. Room does have a "non name brand" pod-style coffee maker, which took a minute - and some water spills- to figure out. There's a reason why most hotels that have these use actual Keurig devices. Positives: front desk staff was very courteous. Hotel felt extremely safe, even with outdoor access. (Probably not a lot of crime on St Simons Island.) This was a business group booking; I probably wouldn't choose it just because it's an exterior access motel with one elevator at end of the outside corridor, but I suppose on an island of million-dollar properties and expensive vacation rentals, it's a good value for the rate. I do recommend St Simons Island in general as a beautiful vacation destination!

The pool area was beautiful. The room was lacking in things like a towel bar, in order to enable the towels to dry. The shower curtain rod did not allow the curtain to be closed all the way, resulting in water from the shower being spewed all over the bathroom. This was a major pain since we were only provided with a limited amount of towels and by our last day there, we were only given bath towels - one of which was dirty. Also not sure how well the floor was cleaned in this room. There was an M&M candy on the floor when we checked in and it remained there throughout our stay. This was not our M&M.

Room was open when I got to it.. No staff were present inside,, but was afraid of ambush. Staff walked into my room with Do Not Disturb sign in door. No knock, no identification, did not ask permission. Was charged a $50 "temporary" reversing fee to verify I did not damage the room and nothing was missing. Not telling if someone had taken things from the unsecured room before I got there. I was told it could take up to 5 business days for the reversed charge to come off my card, and I'm a Platinum Rewards member.
