Magic Beach Motel

We’ve stayed at magic beach motel many times and it’s really our go to when we visit st Augustine. We decided last minute to stay overnight; I popped onto TripAdvisor, booked room, checked in and slept good as always. We had a king room, upstairs in the auxiliary building. It was interesting getting to the room but not difficult. Room #205- top of the stairs, take a right, walk through the door labeled 201. There’s a suite of rooms. Room was clean, bed comfortable, a/c works as it should. I’m not the most technologically savvy person, couldn’t figure out the 2 remotes and TV situation. Called the front desk and apparently just having an answered call did the trick. Front desk answered and boom, TV was ready to view. Pool clean and clear. Parking lot well lit and clean as well.

Pretty good room for the price. Right next to Vilano Beach. Disappointed that the cool neon sign was half out. Got a suite though we didn't really need it for 2. The layout of the room was weird as opening the closet blocked access to the bedroom, annoying.

Okay, it was okay for a night, but that was it. Our room wasn't one of the ones pictured in their list. It was quite small, with the heater-a/c split right over the head of the bed. It appeared to be clean enough, but after my shower and towel drying in the bathroom, walking to the far side of the bed caused the bottoms of my feet to be quite dirty. Bathroom floor mat was dirty, as if just folded dirty side in and put back for the next guest. There was a clump of hair on the bedroom floor. On the positive side, it's right at the beach, and only a block from eateries and Publix. Also, the young woman at the lobby desk was quite nice.

Great location! Super clean little room. Only complaint is there was some type of air freshener or some scent that made me congested, coughing and unable to sleep. Up most of the night using my inhaler. It didn't bothery husband. I thought it may have been in the AC unit?

Loved our stay here! Location is fab, rooms spacious and clean and staff were lovely. Just a minutes walk from the beach. Could have stayed a lot longer. The area is super cool, Absolute gem! Thank you for a great stay, hope to come back in the future.
