Freehand Miami

I recommend this place if you love animals. Location is comfortable because of close to bars, restaurants, and car rental. In the patio you can relax with chill music. Nice and beautiful personnel, I would like to thank Lara for kindly helping with the baggage.

I have felt really safe staying in this hotel. The lockers are great to store a bag back (bring your own lock though!). It is super close to the beach so great location! The trolley (free) and other public transport (small fee) are accessible right in front of the hotel which makes it super accessible to get around Miami Beach. In addition to this, I was able to get a bicycle (for free) for about 2 hours which was super convenient! It was also super easy to get a towel, new sheets, etc. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend for future solo travellers!! I would personally go back there in the future!

I noticed a baby roach on the wall by my reading light. Two more. Shined my phone light and found two more on the ceiling. Stared looking and found 5 or 6 more. No refund was offered.The desk attendant asked me to email the manager of the hotel. Alexandra.guzman@thefreehand.com

Got nothing to complain about the facilities. The bed was comfy, WiFi and AC worked perfectly, the dorm room and bathrooms were kept clean at all times. Towels are provided. Great location too, it’s close to the beach and there are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The bus to/from the airport also stops nearby. Though admittedly if you want to be where all the action is, a hostel in South Beach is a much better option. The hostel just has a weird vibe. There’s a number of long termers staying— people who live in miami but choose to stay in a hostel cause it’s cheaper. Nothing against them, but many long termers aren’t very sociable. This definitely isn’t a party hostel cause you’ll see families with young kids, also elderly people in the dorm rooms. Then they’ll close off the pool area at times because the area can be booked for events. One night a wedding reception was held there, so guests couldn’t hang out by the pool. The other hostel in Mid Beach seems to be a better option for people who’d want to meet fellow travelers. Lastly, it seems to be easy to sneak in people who aren’t staying in the hostel (random women would be sleeping in our dorm room). Good thing lockers are provided for security.
