When we arrived, we were told the life was out of service and would be fixed the next day. After a 24 hr flight, carrying suitcases up the stairs was not ideal. We did have a bellhop carry one bag up. The room was tidy but not very clean. After I showered, I went to get into bed and my feet were pretty dirty. The balcony door did not lock, and when i asked for a rod to put in the tracks ( all the other doors have these bars) I was told not to worry, its a safe area. The vibe in the area is great though it is above a bar/nightclub that approx every 30 minutes they have a 'show' and the noise is next level. Definitely not a place to go if u value your sleep. There is one bed and the other 2 we're click clack lounges which we had to make up. The room has a musty smell which is quiet over powering. This would be ok if it was cheaper, but definitely not worth the money I paid and I am thankful that my knees were able to endure the 4 flights of stairs everytime I wanted to go out. I guess if your young and fit, this wouldn't be an issue.

I reserved a room at the Strand hotel this evening I got several texts about my credit card not working and I would have to pay through zell or cash app I have stayed here several times before over many years. I have never had to pay this way. So I called the hotel and got a women names Valerie I told her my concerns about the many texts and emails from a California phone number and just wanted to make sure it wasn’t a scam. I then was swore at and assumptions were made about men staying in her unit the Assumptions were homophobic and I was the. Told that she would not rent a room to 3 men and she was going to cancel my reservation. The cancellation was based on homophobic comments from her. The place is horrible and the false assumptions were degrading and a clearly discriminatory. I will not be using any Strand brands again and due to one of the 3 men in our business party he will be filling discrimination lawsuit based on her comments in a recorded line. Everyone should be aware of this awful business.

This place was a filthy nasty dirty place the floor was giving in by the bed the floor was peeling other places also the elevator was out of it's inspection date by years don't waste your money on this place I have many more just hopefully all the pictures will load and you can see for yourself I use booking.com the hotel their self charged me but then booking.com double charged me
