I understand the Maritime is currently undergoing a rebrand and remodel. Got it. But this is still a revenue-generating room that guests are paying real money for—and it’s falling short in some important ways. Let’s start with the floors. The hardwood looks nice, but it needs to be mopped. Within minutes of walking around barefoot, the bottoms of our feet were black. Naturally, that led to dirty footprints all over the bathtub. It’s not exactly relaxing to take a bath in water that looks like it’s trying to rinse off a sidewalk. The architecture and design choices are confusing at best. The living area features a futon instead of a real couch—which feels more “dorm room” than hotel suite. Then on the balcony, you get exactly one regular plastic chair, the kind you’d find at Walmart during a back-to-school sale. No second chair. No table. Nowhere to set a drink. It’s like they got halfway through furnishing the place and said, “Yeah, that’ll do.” And let’s not forget the baffling shower setup: there’s a window from the shower to the bedroom, with a shade that only opens and closes from the bedroom side. Nothing like having your family be able to spy on you mid-shower. It’s a privacy nightmare disguised as modern design. We also noticed random stains on the walls, and in general, the cleanliness of the room left a lot to be desired. I understand staffing can be tough, but the housekeeping team needs retraining. At one point, a maid just opened the door and came in—no knock, no announcement. And when we did speak with her, the only question was, “Would you like the bed made?” That was the entire interaction. No greeting, no offer of fresh towels, no check-in on supplies—just in and out. There are outlets by the bed, which would be great if they actually worked. None of them had power, which meant everything had to be charged from the desk across the room. If you’re remodeling anyway, maybe fix the outlets and add some usable ones by the bedside? Overall, this room felt like a work in progress—and not in a “we’re almost there” kind of way. More like “we got halfway through and then gave up.” There are a lot of quirks, a lack of basic cleanliness, and a housekeeping team that doesn’t seem to have the training or support they need. Here’s hoping the remodel includes a serious look at operations too—not just aesthetics.

Do not stay at this hotel. They will charge you an extra night once you check out claiming they are charging you for a "no show" when there was no reservation made. They got your credit card so you find out once you get back home. You can't call them because the number on their website doesn't work!. On top of it, I was supposed to get a refund for the deposit they ask when I checked in and of course I never got it. There's no way to reach anyone who can help. DISAPPOINTING, CHOOSE ANOTHER HOTEL OR LOOSE MONEY.

The hotel web site and pictures are actually very impressive, but they are also misleading. We stayed, here for 7 days from the 14th Feb. The arrival was underwhelming, at an average charge of nearly 200.dollars per night it is much to be desired. This place is under renovation, and the hotel looked and felt that it either should have been shut down for renos or an offer of some sort of incentives to guest, The Lobby was a mish mash of pieces and drapes and rugs, an obvious place for tripping or slipping. We had a penthouse room. This was 'clean' to an extent. We had a cracked and damaged commode, we informed them about it, but that was all. a shower stall with a clear vinyl strip on flor, presumably, to keep the water confined, but it was another trip hazard. as it was in the way and very unsettling. The sofa in the room, needed to be shampooed . The Bathroom was one of the most odd looking designs. One could see who is in the bathroom through the bedroom mirror, and vise a versa. The whole hotel in this state was was wanting an apology. The gym was closed, and so was the roof terrace!! No allowance was made on the price, to reflect their effort to go beyond the inconvenience. At least there should have been 'mind your step' or ' be careful of the uneven floors' or some sort of warning about the conditions of the carpet strips and rugs. Our rooms was not vacuumed once, even though we requested it. The towels for the pool/spa were a tad bigger than hand towels, and what is worse, one would have to go through the restaurant to access pool. Some of the pool side tables were falling a part. The pool though seemed clean, had hundreds of bamboo leaves at the bottom. this should be vacuumed daily The staff in the rooms section had no knowledge of English, they only spoke Spanish, and would reply to you in Spanish if asked a question. Is English not spoken at these hotels? Marriot should have an inhouse training session and hire staff with a smattering of spoken English. It was the same In south America, The service was always great and staff helpful. The hotel was super busy, as it is close to cruise ports and so they rake in the cash. it is not too late to make guest feel more welcome than this. A bottle of wine, a complementary breakfast or some little token to let guest know, that the hotel is doing their best to make them happy and welcome. here are some photographs to let you know that this is not just an exaggeration. Of the years of staying in hotels, this is one for the records. Service was horrible, granting that they are renovating their hotel, there were no signs no guidance from the staff, just gave you the keys and that’s it. The only bright side of our stay was the elderly lady working their restaurant late. She was very accomodating and very warm. The rest of the staff were cold as ice, as if you were lucky that they served you. Definitely not booking here again.

There is a reason it is cheap. The construction had nothing to do with it. We had to wait in a line a long time to check in, supposedly because the Marriott and Tribute computer systems aren't working well together. The TV remote only works if you stand in one spot in the room, and it's not a spot while you're lying in bed. We only discovered that quirk when maintenance finally showed up. We haven't even slept here yet, and we don't like it. We can't wait to check out tomorrow. If we could leave and not lose money we would go now.
