Ivy City Hotel

Considering all the reviews left here I was TERRIFIED that I had to stay here 2 night. But no serious safety issues occurred during our stay, there was a security guard at the front desk. That being said this place is definitely not the safest, other residents warned us that their laundry was stolen from the laundry machine. So we did not use it, we kept our doors locked at all times and tried not to draw attention to ourselves. Strangers might come into parking lot to talk to you at night. As anywhere in America I wouldn’t leave anything in your car. It was advertised as a hotel but this a MOTEL. The bedroom was clean enough, a blood stain on our bedsheet but apart from that everything seemed clean enough. Maybe we got lucky during our stay but I have definitely stayed in motels that looked safer but were much more terrifying to stay in. I wouldn’t stay here if I was travelling solo or with just women.

On one page of the reservation process, they say that reservation is cancellable. After booking, the email says the reservation is not cancellable. I wanted to cancel (I don't like hotel where the front doors open to the outside) and no one ever picked up the phone, returned messages, or answered emails.

Wanted a hotel close to ECHOSTAGE. I know the cheap rates and “boutique” hotel make this place seem great, it’s not. Absolute hell hole. I was terrified the entire time and for a good reason apparently because a girl was stabbed and KILLED while I was staying here. We were attending the same concert. Could have easily been me or one of my friends. Pay more for safety YALL.

Not a hotel, a motel. Unsafe and dangerous. If hip neighborhood means safe and cool forget it. Crime is rampant in area and a young woman was murdered here a few days ago. Avoid. Price is low for a reason.

This is a motel not a hotel. TA should change this in their listing. This motel used to used as a city homeless shelter. It remains on the loud and chaotic side. A woman was murdered in her room yesterday.
