I had a reservation, I get there they charge my cc and give me a key but the room has police tape around inside of door. Room is out of service. They had no other rooms so I asked for refund which I have not received 15 days later. I called today woman didn't know what to do

Based upon our experience: DO NOT stay here! We didn't expect a great hotel, just one that was clean and tolerable for one night. What we got was a FILTHY and STINKING room. We first noticed that one of the two beds had been laid in - the linens were messed up. The carpet was filthy, as was the bathroom tile. The bathtub was gross. There was no power to the outlet for the microwave and fridge; the inside of each stunk! Upon complaining, the desk clerk (who really tried her best to make us happy) put us in a different room. The entry stunk like a skid row back alley. The carpet obviously had not been vacuumed and the TV could not be plugged in, because there was no outlet that the cord could reach. We turned on the a/c and it stunk with such a foul odor that we had to leave the room. The desk clerk apologized and said she would let the manager know and we'd probably get a refund. ..... We are still waiting. We were going to sleep in the truck, but found another hotel which was far nicer and far, far cleaner and not much more money.

On arrival with a reservation I was assigned a room that was not made up - unkempt beds, dirty towels on floor. There was no other room available. Two options: a cleaner could come in, but it might be two hours or more (no discount for the massive inconvenience). Or, take a refund and go (“but good luck finding anywhere at 7:00 pm on a Friday, and even if you do, it will be over $200”). I took the refund, and got a room at First Interstate Motel for comparable cost, and an entirely satisfactory night. Moral: you can make a reservation in good faith at Black Canyon, but you may not have a room on arrival.

First, the positive, the room was clean and comfortable. However, everything else was terrible. Upon checking in, the person behind the desk gave us our room and made the statement, "we just got the blood out of that one." Then, as we tried to unpack and go to our room, a nice couple sitting outside the door said they were already in it. Going back to the lobby to explain the person said he was confused and didn't have anyone in that room. Then told a story of a maintenance staff getting hurt by walking into a occupied room and saying they were glad that didn't happen to us. Upon trying to get into our second room, the keys didn't work. The employee was upstairs with us at this point and said to come back to lobby. They drug an extra bed on wheels downstairs in front of us. The banging on the wooden stairs excited a Hornets nest that then attacked me, the employee watched and laughed as i was stung multipletimes and my wife/kids ran. They brought out 2 working keys and we were able to get settled. My disgust had me looking at other hotels and I noticed the price that night was half of what we booked months earlier. My wife went to the lobby to ask if there was any adjust they could do, and the same person who was there thru all of this just said, "it looks like you just have bad luck tonight. With the other hotels I would stay at being booked or over $300 a night for what they had left. We just held it out until morning and promptly left at dawn. Our experience seems to be worst than everyone else's, but I won't come close to this place again.

We stay in a lot of small town hotels all over the country we enjoy supporting the smaller hotels. So I understand that they’re a bit older and not high end fancy. Please read this before booking. This place was the most disgusting place we have ever stayed in any trip in and out of the county. The beds where not clean the place smelled of smoke terribly and not only cigarette smoke but also the air conditioning wires smelt burnt badly Taking a shower the tub began backing up. Then after flushing the toilet the sewage water backed up into the tub floaters and all yes it smelled horrible sewage leaked out from under the toilet also making the carpet wet in the little hallway. After talking to the office attendant who was very nice. Said that they would give a refund and that they was very sorry. That would have been great I would not have gave a bad review just a bad deal move on no worries. But after a week and no refund I called the phone number she gave me and asked. after the first call she said she would give me a call later that day. After another day of no calls back to me I called again and was told that they no longer give refunds and that they was sorry. Wish they would let me share photos because they’re disgusting.
