This hotel (motel?) is awful! I don't know why it is included in Marriott's chain of hotels. We had to stay in Visalia for 2 nights but I wish I could have checked out after the first night. The front desk staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have no issues with the staff. As soon as we walked in, we noticed the room had a strong hospital smell. The room was very dark and had horrible fluorescent lighting in all of the lamps. There was a red stain on the carpet between the beds that looked like blood. The bathroom didn't have a soap dish on the counter for the soap. We had to leave the soap on the wrapper on the counter. The vanity looked like it was built by a 5th grader in wood shop class using wood from a dump. It was so poorly made and ugly. The shower liner was too short to cover the tub. When we showered, water shot out all over the bathroom floor and flooded our bathroom floor. The height of the shower head was perfect for someone who is 5 feet tall. For anyone taller, you would have to duck to wash your hair. The TV remote was fussy and the TV would not turn off. The thermostat did not work. We had to control the air conditioner from the unit itself, which rumbled as loud as a plane taking off. We had to hear and feel the rumbling AC all night long. When the AC would auto turn off when it reached the set temperature, we could hear our neighbor snoring through the thin walls. One night, other hotel guests (possibly hotel residents?) burnt popcorn in their microwave and it filled our room with the burnt popcorn smell. Early Sunday morning, we were woken by 2 kids racing up and down the hallway. Their mother was still getting ready for the day, so their father let them run amok in the hallway while she got ready instead of taking them outside to the parking lot or to a playground. For 40 minutes, we heard "I"LL RACE YOU!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHH!!!!!!" (Stomp stomp stomp stomp stomp). Occasionally, their father would scream at them. It finally stopped when I called the front desk to ask them to do something about it. This was by far the worst hotel stay I've had at a Marriott. If you ever have to go to Visalia, stay at the Marriott at the Convention Center instead.

We stayed for 3 nights to attend a celebration of life. I requested no housekeeping at check in. While we were at the pool, housekeeping entered our room and cleaned it despite our request. $100 worth of cannabis dispensary products were stolen. I went to the front desk who was puzzled about why our room was cleaned but had no answers. A manager came.to the room and made excuses,,justifying them entering without permission and blamed the general manager. When I pushed back because she insisted no one.would steal from us, she accused me of yelling at her. I never raised my voice. She left and said she would send the GM to talk to me. That never happened. I asked at check out and she was aware of the situation but no resolution was offered. I checked out 4 days go. I paid $550 to stay plus the $100 i lost in the stolen items. I'll never be back! The lack of service and attention is unacceptable!

We experienced a highly disturbing incident where the fire alarm falsely went off not once, but twice, between the hours of 2 and 3 AM. After each of these false alarms, it took lengthy periods of time for guests to settle back in and quiet down. This occurrence was deeply unsettling and disruptive to our rest and overall experience. According to the front desk staff, these false alarms were attributed to supposed electrical problems within the premises and this was not the first time the same issue had occurred. Such incidents are not only inconvenient but also pose a serious concern for the safety and well-being of guests. Due to these repeated disturbances we got hardly any rest at all. The room itself was also nothing like displayed on the website. It’s outdated, dark, and not very well maintained. It’s a rebranded motel at best, and easily ranks the worst among the few dozens of Marriott properties across the world I've stayed at. You'd be better off sleeping in your car than this place.
