The PlayPark Lodge enhanced my experience in South Lake Tahoe. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. The staff was excellent - every employee was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. This hotel is also in a very convenient location, with easy access to the lake, local restaurants, and trails. I would absolutely stay here again, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The Playpark lodge is in a quiet area in south lake Tahoe. Our room was spacious, well decorated, and very clean. The bed was awesome! The owners are knowledgeable about all the activities in the area and we got some great tips for touring and hiking. We liked the txt communication for the door codes and the keyless entry. Very close to shopping, restaurants, and Tahoe activities. The courtyard full of games was a nice touch. Overall, a great place to stay and we will try to book here first when we return to the area.

Play Park Lodge is a recently updated motel, that is dog friendly and is next to a fun pizza place: Lake Tahoe Pizza Company. As we parked our car, we were welcomed by Leo and his newly acquired stick...what a sweet dog! There's a young family we encountered who owns or manages the place, and they were so kind and welcoming. We preferred a two room accommodation, as we were traveling with our young adult kiddos, and dad snores. The accommodation we booked had king room, with a two twin room attached. This was one of the most affordable two room options we found in the Tahoe area. The bathroom was huge. They don't have AC, but the temperature in Tahoe drops so significantly at night in the summer, you don't need it. We had a great stay. The beds were comfortable, and the room felt updated. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, and I can highly recommend.

Although we cancelled our reservations several months in advance, Playpark charged for the 2 room 2 night's stay which we never occupied, insisting that booking.com had not sent them the cancellation notice.

Major Issues, don't stay here. 1. One week prior to check-in, staff emailed me that their system wasn't working with VRBO, and I needed to cancel my original reservation and book a new reservation with them instead. Very suspicious. 2. Upon arrival, we were assigned different rooms than we booked, customer rep (not onsite) not helpful in sorting it out. Door to first room had visible damage (see below) and after 30 minutes on hold, promising manager was onsite, nobody ever showed up. 3. Due to door damage, we did not feel safe staying at the location. Nobody onsite also led to this issue. Management said we were outside cancellation policy (terrible customer service) and would not be refunding us. Still waiting to hear back from claims with VRBO etc. Overall, the property is a converted Motel and they have lots of issues inside and out. I would NEVER suggest anyone stay here, under any circumstances. Manager says he recorded our conversation and will be fighting me for any customer service issue I submit. To me that says a lot.
