I reserved a single room with 2 beds for my adult son and me, at a price of $170. Our experience was poor for many reasons. - The hotel is right on a busy arterial, and the road noise was constant. We ended up sleeping with the A/C on to help mask the traffic noise. - There were no blackout curtains, only large-slat shutters that could not mitigate the light coming into the room. - Our room was near the stairs, which rang like the Liberty Bell with every step. - Linens were cheap, thin and rough. - Inbound commercial jets flew right over the property, and the sound insulation seemed nonexistent. We will avoid this location in the future.

I stayed here the night before my flight out of SFO for $119/night, and it was solid. My room and bed were clean and comfortable, and I have zero complaints. But hereās a warning: BRING EARPLUGS. If you donāt, you wonāt be able to sleep. Also bring water if you donāt want to drink out of the faucet, but the tap water was fine. And for those of us without cars, yes, the area is a bit sketchy and my 6AM walk in the dark to the San Bruno BART station (FYI BART fare from San Bruno to SFO is $9, and from Millbrae to SFO is $5.20) was a bit unsettling, but thereās lots of traffic along El Camino Real so itās not terrible. If I had a choice Iād stay near Millbrae BART, but if youāre going to be in San Bruno, go ahead and pick Bayhill Inn.

The hotel is a no non sense stay at a very near distance from the SFO airport. Makes it perfect for overnight short stays. The rooms are not properly located since the hotel opens up to the streets and hence remains noisy throughout the day but that's something that can be managed given the price you are paying. There's no in house restaurant and even water bottles are not provided in the room so please make your arrangements. There's no toileteries either but that's kind of expected. The WiFi is super fast and unlimited and the rooms are spacious for 1 person. The managers are all very helpful and will make sure to guide you and in whatever you need. I had to prepone my checkout date coz of COVID19 and the manager was super helpful in processing my refund. No questions asked.

I would love to be able to review the Bayhill Inn in full, but unfortunately I didn't make it past the front desk. I had a confirmed reservation that I booked through Expedia, but when I arrived at the hotel at 11pm, I was informed by the man at the front desk that they had given away my room because I hadn't checked in by ***6PM***. What hotel cancels a reservation for not checking in by 6PM!? This directly contradicted the confirmation email I received stating that checkin closes at midnight. When I pointed this out to him, he stated that it was because they didn't have my credit card information. True! Because I booked it through Expedia! Why would you have my credit card information!? Even so, nowhere on my confirmation email OR when trying to book a new room does it EVER say anything about a 6PM check in deadline. When I pointed this out, the front desk clerk simply shrugged and said there are plenty of other hotels in the area. To quote the great Jerry Seinfeld: "See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them." Fortunately Expedia was able to find me accommodations elsewhere, otherwise I would have been out on the street for the night. Stay away, do not book. This place is shady shady shady. There are plenty of hotels in the area that know how to actually hold a reservation.

I stayed here about 5 years ago and although well used at the time, the managers did a fine job of keeping this older Motel, one that dates back to the days when El Camino Real was US 101 and the Bayshore freeway was US 101 BYP, (1940's - 50's? ) in good to very good shape. I planned to stay at this location again if the need arose. My son and I stayed again in October 2018 and I was pleased to see that the entire operation had undergone a facelift. The rooms are after all, Motel rooms so they will be small by modern standards but, the bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The bathroom was completely redone with quality materials and I was impressed. Due to limited space of the Motels footprint, management has done the best they can to accommodate parking and, I believe have succeeded. The main issue with parking complaints and damage probably centers around the fact that people, in general, just don't center their cars in parking spots-anywhere. This makes proper spacing a bit tough, that's on us, not the establishment. Overall, considering that corporate hotels in the area are over $300 for a place to spend the night, this fine Motel from a different era fits well for the smart traveler and still continues to fulfill the mission of the "Motor Hotel" to provide weary travelers a simple place to rest for the night at a reasonable price.
