Residence Inn by Marriott Salinas Monterey

An average hotel in a quiet area. As a Platinum Marriott member I was a bit disappointed. Firstly, even though remodeled in 2020, the furnishings in the room are very worn. The couch is caving in and the bathtub had a nice chunk of it missing. There are no ice machines and in the morning they seem to run out of everything from sweet n low to cream cheese. Also I would argue Monterey should not be in the name. It is a 30 minute drive.

Convenient location with Walmart and Costco right there—no gas station at Costco—it’s tired. Needs some updating. The bathtubs eithere need to be deglazed or turned into showers. They drain so slow when showering. The furniture is worn and sofa cushions saggy. The staff were very nice. Breakfast didn’t have any cut up fresh fruit only whole oranges. You’d think in California there’d be more fruit. It was clean. Let’s just say it was adequate. I’d stay here again if in the area.

Very nice hotel with a two room suite for our family of five. The room came with a fully stocked kitchen, breakfast was your standard fare. The rooms were clean. They use Shampoo and conditioner and body wash in the bathroom. There was no lotion. The parking lot was easy to navigate. Parking is $12 a day. I would recommend

Typical Residence Inn in Salinas, in a quiet area and about 30 minutes drive from Monterey. Rooms are very wide and well equipped, but a bit dated. My aircon was broken and the control was not working. Breakfast buffet was acceptable but nothing special. Price is quite high for the value.

My husband and I stay at Marriott frequently. While staying at this Marriott, I broke out and he had to toe rash all over my body, one of the doors to the bedroom would not close because a screw is sticking out, there was an entire piece missing underneath the dishwasher that exposed, electrical and other things, and the handle for the door knob going into one of the bathrooms was also broken. Our room was supposed to have a fireplace and it did not. In addition to this, when we went downstairs for the complementary breakfast, the bagels and English muffins had mold on them. I am super disappointed, and would not stay here again.
