This was a good pick for a couples trip. The room was comfortable enough, though the mattress was borderline. Biggest complaint is about the food/drink policy at the pool. I like to bring a drink from the room to the pool which has never been an issue at a place like this. However, we were rudely barked at by a woman from the Reef for doing this. Just making people aware, if this is your plan stay elsewhere. They didn’t seem to mind people violating the no pool floats rule.

Used to love this place, but it's completely falling apart. The carpet was stained and dirty and based upon the thick dust in the corners, it had been awhile since fully vacuumed. The furniture was delaminating--ALL of it. The floor lamp appeared to have a wiring issue as it turned on/off unpredictably. The desk was inoperable and falling apart. The hot/cold water was switched at the sink basin, so we thought perhaps we had no hot water (until I brushed my teeth and discovered the hot water was reversed). The shower dispensers didn't dispense, so we had no soap to shower with. The exhaust fan was broken in the bathroom. The shower was very hard to pull on, and once on, the whole plate came off, revealing the in wall plumbing behind it. You could see the plumbing bend when struggling to pull the shower on/off. The AC was low-functioning (we had to set to 60 degrees in March to get the room at basic comfort level). I've stayed in very cheap motels in this country. But this level of decrepitude is what I imagine you'd get from a room-by-the-hour. I'd come back for the Tiki bar. But I'll never stay here again, which is a real bummer as this used to be my go-to in Palm Springs (it's been about 5 years since I last stayed here). The bed sheets appeared clean, and housekeeping clearly does their job (save for the vacuuming). The decision to not maintain anything comes from above. Shameful.

This resort is a gem. We enjoyed every minute that we stayed here. Large swimming pool, perfect temperature hot tub (hot!), pool side beverages available from the Tiki bar, Hawaiian music playing near-by under the swaying palm trees. Who needs Hawaii!?? The motel itself is dated, but we didn't care. Clean rooms, moderately priced, a cafe nearby, downtown Palm Springs a few blocks away....it was great! We can hardly wait to return next year. And, the year after that.

You get what you pay for. We chose this hotel as the price was affordable for a two night stay. The room was basic, it has not been updated or properly cleaned in a long time. The amenities are pretty good, including an outdoor pool and a decent gym. We did not make use of any of these during our visit. If you want a room that is clean and comfortable, I would suggest you look elsewhere

I did not want to pay a lot of money for my first trip and it showed. I learned there are things I have to have with my hotel room. CTR was not it. The rooms are old ( Think highway 66 back in the 1950's-60's. There's carpet which should be removed for I never saw the housekeepers with vacuum cleaners. My king size bed was very lumpy on one side . So I started to lay on the other side and it was better. The coffee and Mr. Coffee was crap. I thought I was drinking chestnuts. Thank God for Koffi up the street. The fixtures were scary. I thought I would be pulling them out of the wall ( shower)and creating a mess. Bring your own toilet paper- their is literally sandpaper. Outside is very dark , I had to use my flashlight to see where I was going. The menu at the Reef is also dated- just happy hour food if you like just burger and fries. Sancho's was good but a lot of food. So not having a microwave in my room, I could not take any leftovers back. I thought it was weird that both Sancho's and the Reef did not know what Sangrias are...But I was there for the pool and sunshine and that made me content. The hot tub was strong.
