We stayed at the Residence Inn near the Toronto Pearson airport overnight when our flight got in very late. We enjoyed that we didn’t have to wait for a shuttle. Instead we took a cab, got a receipt and were reimbursed at check-in. The room was clean and looked like it had been recently updated. The breakfast was a pleasant surprise with a good selection of breakfast foods including freshly baked croissants. The eggs tasted like real eggs, not like some processed tasting eggs you find at some breakfast buffets. Most important was the friendly, caring staff. It is rare to have staff at a hotel breakfast room ask if there is anything you need or if they can get you anything. The staff at this hotel was very pleasant, helpful and professional.

Oh how I wish I had seen the reviews here on TripAdvisor. I booked this hotel for 8 nights. When I got there and checked in the first night, I was told after I had checked in that parking was $17 a night. I did not notice that when I first booked this hotel, or I would have reconsidered. The girl checking me in did not ask if I was a Marriott-Bonvoy member, which I am. The night manager came over to say that I could have received parking at $7 a night had I checked in on the app. There was no way to undo this transaction now though. He offered $10 a night. So this was the first of many ways I was disappointed. The "gated" parking that was supposed to add security was only an arm to keep cars out. Vandals could still walk in. I think the purpose of the secured parking was more likely to keep other people from parking in their lot, since the Convention Center is across the street. And then they passed that cost onto the customers. When I went to my room, the carpet was all wet. It was late, so I waited until the morning to let them know. I told them I would be out all day and would check in about switching rooms. They said that maintenance would look at it. When I got back to my room, I found out that nothing had been done. I had to wait awhile for maintenance to come and to be assigned to another room. I asked the front desk if I could have a room that was not a designated "pet" room (since I was concerned that the reason for the wet carpet was urine). She told me that "all of our rooms have had pets in them." Really? What about guests having allergies? The next room I had had a problem with the thermostat. The screen was blank, so I could not tell what temp the room was at. When I switched on the A/C, it got too cold, and when I switched on the heat, it did not work. I asked for another room change. I also asked to speak to the main manager, but I was told that he was out for the next 3 days. The next room was sufficient, but all in all, the hotel itself was in great need of maintenance and updating. I really expected better from a Marriott brand. So disappointing. On top of this, when I got a printout of the bill, they had charged a "$5.00 voluntary contribution." Pretty strange, since I never volunteered that at all. I come down to this area a lot for family business and will not be staying here again.

Stay far, far away! I stayed here for a business trip with a morning flight out of ONT. The hotel was one of the worst I've ever experienced. The bathroom had hair on the floor and was not clean. The room had a dingy smell, with lingering cigarette smoke. The furniture was very worn out, scratched and damaged. I was in my room for only about 8 hours and had a headache from the lingering odor so I left and went to Ont early. As I left at 3 am there were multiple people sitting in their cars in the parking lot. I regret not spending the night at the airport. I would have felt safer there.

I had the most awful experience at this hotel, and I strongly advise others to avoid it. From the moment I arrived, everything about the place screamed neglect and poor management. Cleanliness: The room was filthy. There was dust everywhere, stains on the bedding, and a moldy smell coming from the bathroom. The carpets were sticky, and the bathroom had hair from previous guests.

We travel at least twice a month to this region of SC for go-karting, and almost exclusively stay at the Residence Inns. My experiences are a mixed bag. However the Ontario airport residence inn is the worst of them all. When we checked into the room (kitchen & king bed) - several things were off. There was strong rotting food stench coming from the kitchen sink. There was only one chair instead of two at the kitchen table. No paper towel and dish soap. No toaster. The bathtub faucet was leaking and water was accumulating in the tub. The spare bathroom tissue looked like it dropped in dirty liquid retrieved and dried. It simply showed the room was not refreshed for our stay. It was late and we were beat after driving from the San Jose and needing rest for the 12+ hour practice the next morning. So we just slept. The next morning I explained all these issues to a lady manning the front desk. I got really agitated when she responded ā€œI am going to help you with your problemsā€. How in the world were any of these issues my problem. It’s what I payed for!
