Hampton Inn & Suites Marina

As an elite member, i asked for complementary upgrade to a suite since we have someone on wheelchair and prefer bigger room, that was not granted. There were not water and snack given to me during the check in although I select these instead of bonus points, and I have to ask for it during the check-out time, I normally get greeted as elite member during checking in at other Hilton or Marriott properties, not here though. There are room for improvement on service at this property.

Property can be a tad bit better, but overall great. Only problem I had was with the guest above me didn't think the heavy feet and jumping would be an issue. Even with ear plugs, I can still feel the walls shaking. Property is new so everything smells new. Room and bathroom clean and amenities satisfactory. Breakfast was decent. Fitness center looked great too. Pool is indoors but busy. Parking is $10 a night and may get full. I noticed some had to park in red zones. Room facing east.

1. The pool area smells so bad like poop. The property uses recycled water for their plants. The smell in the pool area makes it so horrible to try and swim. 2. The outlets in the room don't work. In our room with probably 7 outlets, only two worked. 3. Staff was nice but incredibly unhelpful with any requests. 4. Elevator was broken. Just would avoid this. So many hotels in the area, I would try a different one next time.

We chose this hotel for it’s proximity to the Carmel Mission for my son’s 4th grade project. It’s only a 15 minute drive to Monterey. The hotel was new, nice, clean and comfortable. They serve hot breakfast daily which is a plus when traveling with a family of 4! Definitely recommend this hotel if you want to avoid the pricey hotels in Monterey.

New hotel in Marina, just north of Seaside/Monterrey, built in 2023 was an excellent choice. The room was comfortable and quiet, staff was friendly and provided Halloween goody bags. Breakfast was sufficient. Free parking. We would stay here again.
