Discovery 4 #128 3 Bedrooms 2.5 Bathrooms Condo

Our family of 3 stayed here for 8 nights in February and the condo was perfect for us! It has everything you need for a comfortable stay. After spending a whole day on the slopes, we just relaxed in the condo and had our own family aprés. Comfortable sofas, nice flat screen tv, and a kitchen well appointed with appliances. I made breakfast for my family everyday and we ate in for dinner 4 nights during our stay. I was able to redirect my Blue Apron delivery for that week to our unit! The loft which had a queen sized bed and bathroom was also nice to have! Really feels like you are in the mountains. My four year old son loved the condo so much that he didn’t want to leave. It’s located off of Lake Mary Rd. on the Lake Basin Path and across street there is a bus stop (Orange Line) for the free shuttle which stops at the Village Gondola (5 minute bus ride). We highly this recommend this particular unit!

Pets allowed, and that’s great. However almost everything for humans earns 0.5 stars. Top freezer leaks water into refrigerator. 1960’s range/oven with garage sale set of pots/pans. No cookie sheet to bake frozen pizzas. Most condos have basic kitchen essentials like aluminum foil...not this one. Dining room chairs soiled. Showers incredibly small (the master shower is a small fiberglass insert style that you can’t use without bumping the walls). About 3.5’ square. Cable TV InOp (we had to fix it ourselves). Rats nest of cables hanging out of TV over fireplace mantel. Carpet soiled at entryway. Front door and master bedroom doors stick and require a shoulder bump to open. Couch is vinyl and very worn out. I would look for any other place to stay unless you need to book pet friendly quarters at the last minute.

Discovery 4 has been my “home away from home” base for great hiking and sightseein excursions throughout the Sierra Nevada area. In fact, I have stayed so far SEVEN times at this wonderful condominium complex and there are many good reasons for selecting this location. Discovery 4 is a well maintained condominium, reasonably priced located within about 3 minutes’ drive to Lake Mary and adjacent lakes and few minutes’ drive to the heart of Mammoth Lakes town center; The Village. All the rental units are perfectly clean and fully equipped with all the amenities you will usually find in your own home. In addition, it has attentive & professional staff ready to listen and serve you. I am an avid photographer and hiker and usually come to Mammoth Lakes in the fall or late spring months. If you are looking for a great place to stay in Mammoth Lakes – Discovery 4 will be an excellent choice.

If you love to fish, bike, hike, eat, drink & be merry then this place is the best of all worlds. Our condo was a 1 bedroom, clean, comfortable unit. All the conveinences of home. There is a pool, with barbeques, a rec room, & wifi. Kitchen has all the appliances right down to the blender. The price was good, & I have stayed in alot of worse hotels with no amenities & twice the price. The best part is you are about 1 mile out of the downtown area. But if you want to go to town, or out for drinks there is a free trolley that goes up & down Lake Mary Road. It picks you up on one side of the street & drops you off on the other, right in front of the units. These trolleys are color coded so some are for sightseeing, some will take you & your bike up the mountain, then you ride down, or shopping & hitting the local restaurants. Lakes are abundant, the fishing was great. Rent a boat, bike, or kayak. Take the gondola all the way to the top of the mountain-11,000ft, The views are 360 degrees of pure breathtaking beauty. Well worth the price. Stay up there as long as you like, or for the brave of heart hike down on the trails The cafe up there is pricey- a bottle of water $4, take your own. We went in July & they were still skiing and snowboarding. The gondola is setup to take your bike up to the top of the mountain to the bike park with groomed trails of different skill levels. What a ride. Make it a weeks stay- there is so much to do. We are already planning another trip back in the fall for the beautiful fall colors. Days are warm shorts weather, nights are cool. The stars are amazing....Oh I could go on & on, but now you make your story.

I've been coming here since it opened. Its great but I must say the past management was awful but they are gone now thank goodness. Jeri was a horrible person and manger just as the person wrote. Now that they are gone and we have a very nice manger all is well again. So come and enjoy, we don't rent our unit so this is not bias.
