Underwhelming Renaissance location. Part of a common theme at domestic US Renaissance properties where service levels across all functions of the hotel don’t match brand expectations. Check-in experience was transactional, taking for granted high transient guests who stay one night. Training, rapid, overnight guests, any less than those who stay multiple days is unfortunate. Checkout experience was inconsistent to standard procedures. Agent did not ask me how I stay was, which is normal to ask, even if just out of courtesy. I then shared my sink was not cleaned properly by the housekeeping team where I saw toothpaste left over from the prior guest. When I brought this up to the front desk agent, her first response was not to apologize, it was only to say “I should’ve told them right when I found out” I did share that I only noticed it this morning and it makes me question what else in the room was not cleaned. I later mentioned this exchange on the Marriott app chat and did not receive a response back from any manager despite the assurance in the text chain I would. So either the manager got the message and didn’t call me or didn’t get the message and thus, couldn’t call me
 either way underwhelming.

We stayed here for two nights prior to our flight to Tokyo. The hotel could use a renovation however we found everything in order for a great stay. Easy checkin, upgraded to a suite, room 1011, extremely quiet and great service in all areas that we encountered. The restaurant off the lobby had really good food for breakfast and dinner. Airport shuttle ran on time and drivers were friendly and helpful. We will be back to stay in two weeks and look forward to our return.

We arrived late after a long flight, check in was really smooth and the staff were friendly. Room was great, really big and super comfy. The only downside was no food available. The bar area was open but there was no option for food, the bar staff was very rude in telling us this too. We asked if there was anywhere nearby but there wasn’t as it’s in the industrial area near the airport. We ended up with door dash in the end at 11pm! We would’ve expected an airport hotel to have at least a sandwich offering for late arrivals.

I stayed at this hotel in December for a 1 night layover from Houston to Honolulu. I reserved the 1 king standard room online without any issues directly on the Marriott website. The hotel shuttle runs at LAX at about every 15 minutes at each terminal. The terminal maps posted on the walls showed a shuttle stop at terminal 1, but was incorrect. From where I was (near the check in lobby by Southwest) the closest hotel shuttle stop was at terminal 2, which was not a far walk. I did call the hotel prior to getting on the shuttle and they let me know how often the shuttle passes by. The shuttle driver came by as mentioned and the drive to the hotel was less than 10 minutes, I'm sure it depends on the traffic. The shuttle driver was friendly and helpful I noticed later that evening there was a lot more stop and go traffic in the area due to the game at SoFi stadium. I checked in online, but declined to use the smart phone room key option, I prefer a regular card key so I had to stop by the front desk anyway. The stop at the front desk took only a few minutes, the gentleman at the front desk was professional and informative. The lobby of the hotel was modern in appearance and not that much people around. The restaurant and bar was open and I enjoyed a drink and dinner there later. The service there was excellent. I sat near the bar at the Studio 12. The food and cocktails were delicious. The room was spacious and clean, the bed very comfortable and the central air conditioning system easy to use. I was on the 4th floor and I did not notice any excessive noise from outside or from the hallway. Nothing out of the ordinary to note as everything in the room that I used worked as it should. I was here for only one night, but would stay here for longer if my visit called for it. The price was comparable to other hotels in the area. It would be a great option when catching an event at SoFi or other sporting venues in the area. I did not have a car, but I noticed the parking rate was high, $60 or more per night, but about average for the hotels in this area. I checked out early the next morning, I could not see anyone at the front desk, but there was a kiosk drop box for quick checkout, just drop your room key in there and done. So there is another reason why I don't like to use the smart phone room key. My hotel receipt was emailed to me later that morning. The shuttle bus which runs 24 hours a day, came by a few minutes later and took me to the airport. No fuss. This was an enjoyable stay, even if it was only for 1 night.
