Candlewood Suites Loma Linda San Bernardino S an IHG Hotel

STAY-AWAY! Horrible experience, please please don’t stay! My family and I stayed there and it was the worst. We got there and the front desk guy seemed he was high. The hotel smelled like pot, but a lot, there was a lot of people outside partying, didn’t even feel safe to leave car parked. Around 2 am the fire alarm turned on, nobody knew what was happening, we went downstairs to the lobby and they seemed to be having a party on the front desk and lobby, with drinking and smoking pot (probably why the alarm went on). When checking out told the front desk lady and she just said ok, I don’t know if it is a normal thing in that hotel. So if you are going with family pleaseee don’t stay.

They do not have security in the area with a pretty healthy homeless population. I had to walk 30 feet from the door to my car past a homeless man digging through the trash can. I stayed for 6 nights and asked to be moved. I didn't feel safe there and the amenities were bare with a minimal workout facility, no pool and the room was a one room King suite. Add to that the parking charge was $300 for 6 nights, meaning $50 a night with no security? My company paid for the stay, but I highly recommend not staying here until they get security and at least improve the fitness center.

While this is a newer hotel with well-designed suites, there were deficits to our recent visit which means I have canceled a future reservation. The largest of those is olfactory--the hotel offers the widest variety of unpleasant smells that I have ever experienced at a hotel. Our suite featured a strange, unpleasant, burnt bamboo smell that I first thought was a souvenir of fried bacon from previous residents. One of the two ground-floor hallways featured a persistent, very strong, and unpleasant dog food odor. And the smell of marijuana was obvious most of the time.

Trey checked my co-worker and I into the Candlewood Suites in Loma Linda. Trey provided the best customer service I have ever received in my life. He went above and beyond to assist us with the check in process as we were traveling for business so the check in process was a bit more complicated and involved additional steps. Trey was was extremely helpful and reviewed the hotel’s amenities in detail. I have never experienced such a helpful person at a hotel in the last 15 years of traveling for business on a regular basis (6-8 times per year). Trey deserves a significant raise and promotion.

Great hotel with a convenient location. We stayed here when we moved our daughter home after college. Its a newer hotel with spacious rooms and a nice kitchen. All the staff went out of their way to meet our needs, Trey at the front desk was especially helpful!
