Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Campbell

Horrible service. Terribly rude to us. Refused to add my husband to my reservation - no other Marriott property has ever done this to us - and I am lifetime Gold member. I can't imagine how they treat others. Wish I had chosen Hilton for this stay.

I had business in Campbell for a week and my wife joined me for the trip. Since the Courtyard is across the street from my client, it was an easy choice. The property appears to be relatively new and well kept. Our room was very clean and had a shower in place of a bathtub, which is a nice touch. The shower had plenty of hot water and pressure. The best part of the stay was the bed, which was perfect - just the right balance of firmness. The room was extremely quiet and the drapes kept out morning sunlight. The biggest surprise for me was the breakfast menu in the lobby Bistro. Being a frequent traveler and having hundreds of nights of Courtyard stays under my belt, I have become accustomed to the usual fare, powered eggs with tasteless sides. Not anymore, the Bistro offered at least a dozen outstanding menu items, from an excellent breakfast burrito to an outstanding breakfast sandwich. The Starbucks espresso drinks were also prepared just right. Perhaps on of the best things about the location of this property are the vast array of restaurants in the immediate area. Two blocks away and an easy walk is the Pruneyard, which has several outstanding places for dinner. Our favorite was Luna, which is a Mexican restaurant serving up excellent Margaritas. A short drive away is a retail and entertainment complex, Santa Row, which has dozens of places to eat from basic tacos to high-end establishments. The front desk staff were great, as was housekeeping. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we will definitely be back.

This was a "typical" Marriott Courtyard. We choose Marriott partly due to consistency-you know what you're getting! Even though there were a bunch of people for a sporting event, the hotel was still quiet, and we were well taken care of. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet, and people were pleasant. One reason I don't always choose Courtyard is because you don't have the easy complimentary breakfast available. The Starbucks had a good selection of breakfast items, but you need to order and wait. The benefit is that the food is fresh but I'd prefer to simply choose something ready to go and be done.

Kudos to the Courtyard for going pet friendly recently! I travel everywhere with my dog so they got business that they otherwise would have missed out on! And they have a nice hot tub. My only suggestion is that they provide more dessert options besides a large chocolate chip cookie (which was quite good...)

My significant other and I stayed at this particular hotel last year and the staff, the food, and the ambiance were wonderful. This year my significant other and I stayed here as well and again everything was great!!! I want to especially thank Marriott hotel staff Steven, Joanna and Jorge for making this a great stay:)…. Even though I did not get her name, just wanted to say a big thank you to the nice lady who cooked the food for us! Great food! My significant other really loved your scrambled egg breakfast and we both loved the potatoes:)….
